Ive always heard that you cant upgrade a Dell or a Mac without going through the company. and I ask, why? Is there a certain component that is ALL DELL that you must work around, or what. I clean my computer every sunday and I noticed that the Mobo has Dell on it, otherwise, everything else is just parts. My videocard and powersupply are other companies, and I havent checked everything else. I dont know when, but SOMETIME I am going to upgrade this hunk of shit, and I just want to know if I can work around this piece of shit, or if I should just reformat this fucker, then sell it straight up, take that money and go for something new? next year I may be doing a project in school that might get me a free computer, but idk. Its called senior project, others may have done it... but supposedly if I tell companies its for school they can send me free shit  So I want to upgrade... and I dont know when I should. Im broke, put it that way, and I just dont know if I can work around this dell, or if I should just sell it ASAP, take that money, and put it towards all new shit.

what makes a dell a dell, is the pile of dog shit in front of your house. Dell is garbage, in every way you look at it. My old computer was a dell, and i upgraded it myself, with a new mobo, ram, and vid card, and case. Kept the processor, HDD, CDdrives, and somethin else. Dell doesnt make thier own parts, you pay them to build a computer for you. The dell mobo, is another company's mobo, that they have an agreement with, to put there name on it. Dell is a piece of shit, and never will i buy from then again. Dell free for 4 years. |

And yeah Glitch I know how dell works, I just mean, is it possible to keep SOME of the parts in this piece of shit dell and move onto something better, or is it all junk becuase its a dell. if anything, id keep the Ram, the CD drives, and the Vid card, and toss everything else. the fans in this thing even sucks. Zero, if your gonna get rid of the mobo, your gonna have to rid yourself of the RAM too. Since odds are, you RAM is outdated and wont work with a new mobo. My advice, keep the HDD, CD Drives, and Processor (depends on the processor). Replace everything else. Vid card, not sure what you got. Give us your system specs so i can be more precise. |

EVERYTHING is horribly outdated. like, please dont laugh at most of the stuff, lol. HDD: unimportant shitty 160 GB drive Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz (2 cpus) Video Card: ATI Radeon X600 series 256mb 1 GB of ram dont know the motherboard or how to find out anything. Dont know any numbers to certain shit either. all I know is dxdaig and My Computer Info. otherwise I dont know how to find shit out. Like I said if I upgraded id probably go from the ground up, and get shit that works well together, and just sell this or if I can use anything ill try. People are dumb. I could sell this rig for $500 on Ebay and use that money towards a completely new one. Hard thing is deciding on whether to do that or not depending on the comments I get on this thread... |
