Sorry for my 4 topic in a row rant, but i have alot to say  I find it interesting to see the candidates taking questions from average american people. Could this possibly be the future of debates? |

The republicans are all over the place... but their candidates are white and male... which gives them a shot. I find it very odd that the Dem's have Hilary and Obama up there... As I've said before, I think Obama's a very good speaker and a good guy, and I'm not sure about Hilary (I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of saying she's a bitch... I've never met the broad...). But how likely is it that a woman or black man wins ANY states in the south or midwest? GArrrrrr off topic out the ass... ON TOPIC: Youtube is just an easy way of advertising... lots of hits, not a lot of effort... I think that candidates are realizing to an even greater degree that advertising is everything. |

I don't really think there's even a chance of the republicans winning this election. Honestly, with everyone hating Bush right now, I don't think anyone will vote republican this time. | ||

It's not as simple as that, with people like Romney and McCain running, you have two likable guys, who are well known for their politics. The only thing is, Romney will only get Utah (for saving the Winter Olympics) and McCain, if he shuts up, may get a VP spot, but since he talks so much bs, and everyone knows it, he is loseing popularity quick. Wait, in the last two elections, the popular vote didn't go in favor of the winning president, weird...I thought this was a democracy, where all people (which people are 18+) have a say, guess not. And youtube is now a main media outlet. Although it runs through the internet, it kind of took on a life of it's own, and now is one of the most viewed web pages ever. So this idea of using it to "debate" which was more, answer some smart, and some ignorant questions from a bunch of people whose votes aren't going to mean jack shit. If you want to consider new media outputs where the candidates are campaining, atleast half of them advertise through Second Life as well. (also, please look at John Edwards, take him into consideration, he hasn't hit the trail hard, but I like what he has going with him, and hope to god he gets the pres run, with hill or obama as vp.) |

I disagree. Democrats have She-Clinton and Obama. She-Clinton has more "experience" from when her husband was in office and she "assisted" with projects by either leading them or telling her husband what to do. But, she is well known as a "bitch" which has turned away a lot of people. Obama has the same amount of experience in the Congress/Senate realm as Clinton. The only thing the he doesn't have is having been in The White House while his significant other ran the country. The republicans have Guiliani. Nostie is right that he is white and male which is giving the Republicans an advantage. Everyone hates Bush and the Republican party but Guiliani was America's mayor and helped NYC get through 9/11. He does have skeletons in the closet but no one is perfect. Ultimately, my opinion is that it's going to come down to who the Democrats choose. Do they want to go with Clinton who is tagged as a "bitch" by most of the country and who is a female. Let's be honest that part of this country isn't ready to have a woman in charge either because they don't want a woman in the top office or they feel that other leaders, such as the Middle East, see this as a sign of weakness and will not want to work with a woman because of their cultural values. The other side is Obama who isn't as "experienced" but brings fresh blood from the Democratic side. I see the Democrats holding the key card to their own future right now. If they run Obama as the candidate, I will vote for him. If they run Clinton, I am going to be more inclined to go with Guiliani provided he has an exit strategy from Iraq and a willingness to use those troops overseas to fortify our own borders. CNN did a recent pole and basically it broke down to 15% more of the voters that were polled wanted to see Obama over Clinton and if Clinton won the nomination they would look at Guiliani. In regards to your question Emer, I think debates will start to become more about the normal person which it has always tried to be but it will never be without censorship of the people that are allowed to step to the podium to ask a question. Wild, the only reason I can't vote for Obama is the fact that he used the Senate to go for presidency. He is a great speaker and all, but, he hasn't gone to 90% of the "required" meetings to vote as a senate. Because he has been on the campaign trail since he got in. Like I say, look at Edwards, he has an exit strategy, and also has a lot of ideas for internal issues, which are the biggest issues inside this country. Also, he is looking at free healthcare, which is something we all need, but unlike most other world powers, we don't seem to have it. He has the best mix of internal/external affairs policies, and I am going to follow with him till I can't vote for him any more. I may vote for she-Clinton, because that means Bill will be back in the white house as well, and he did a good job with our country. any who, I just want everyone to check into John Edwards. He isn't running huge campaigns, but he is out there, and pretty damn good politician if there is such a thing. |

i watched the debate last night and i liked what i saw from romney. I previously was going for guliani based on 9-11 and how well he handled the city during his tenure. But i dont like the way hes going about things. Ive liked McCain since 2000, and i think he would make a great president, but he most likely has no chance now. Id like to see a Romney-McCain white house, but that is unlikely. As for democrats, i am completely against clinton just because shes a bitch. |
