Well, we all know Microsoft is the stupidest company ever by releasing their platform this early, so they're last. I don't know which will get first place this time, Wii or PS3. Nintendo actually has a chance this time, and I'm glad for them. | ||

We as video game consumers need to demand more from the powers that be. It seems that the only thing going for the PS3 and 360 is better graphics. Sure, they may have a hard drive and online playing ability, but my personal computers have had that for many, many years. Do Sony and Microsoft really think that we, as consumers, are going to shell out hundreds of dollars for a “new†system, and another $50 for every game? Fuck that. Are slightly better graphics on the PS3 going to make me feel inferior for only having a PS2? Hell no. The only thing “new†with the consoles is Nintendo’s controller. It’s a handheld interactive controller that allows the player to have his movements recorded on the TV. I think this interactive controller is great. As a matter of fact, I thought it was great in 1989 when Nintendo first introduced an interactive controller known as the Power Glove -[link]- . For those of us old enough to remember the Power Glove, this “new†interactive controller should bring nothing but yawns. Don’t get me wrong, I think Nintendo’s interactive controller is a great idea, that’s why, 17 years ago, I saved up my allowance for 6 months to buy it. Now, I’m not saying this is old news, but when I first bought Nintendo’s “new†interactive controller the Soviet Union was still in power. What’s next? Are the video game manufactures going to rehash Nintendo’s 1988 Power Pad ( -[link]- )? Oh, wait, they already did in the form of Dance, Dance Revolution (DDR) -[link]- I guess my point to this rant is that until we, as consumers, demand a better product, we will not get it. The whole Nintendo vs. Sony vs. Microsoft rivalry is a joke. Who the fuck cares? All the systems are shit. So, if you want to shell out hundreds of dollars for slightly better graphics, then go for it. If you want more innovative consoles/games then save your money and hit the companies where it hurts…their wallets. Fuck all three companies. I don’t care if they will send out Jenna Jameson to fuck me as a part of their ad campaign, I still won’t buy their sub-par, rehashed, pathetic consoles. Edited Wed Aug 16 2006, 07:39AM |
