Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

So this year in Highschool I have to do a senior project. Since I want to learn more about computers, how they are made, and learn alot more about USING a computer, I want to build one for my senior project, and create things on it to prove that I've learned something. (sob story of it's own worthy of disney. That's just the lowdown on the whole thing) so, I need to get a grant to pay for all the parts and shit. So, in this fairy tale land of my mind that has unicorns and Baileys, I want to know if this rig I made is "all right" I know shit about computers, especially the "different speeds of RAM", etc. So let me know if something doesn't match up to something else, and let me know if I should replace it with something else, hopefully cheaper. -[link]- |

DO NOT USE THE PSU SUPPLIED WITH THE CASE. Case makers use no-name chinese brands and generally POS PSUs when they are free with the case (especially at the low price). They are very likely to fail, and when they do there's a good chance they can permanently fuck up other components. For the Graphics card, I'd get an eVga instead, since their warranty is the best out there. You can pretty much piss on the card while it's running and send it back for a new one. And the sound card is kinda pointless. It's so old that the one built into the mobo is probably better. Get an audigy 2. Edited Wed Jul 30 2008, 04:45PM |

Hrm, well it's definitely not a cutting edge system, but it's way fuckin faster than my shit so more power to ya. Looks alright, just do some research and make absolutely sure that the motherboard and RAM are compatible. Your mobo and CPU choice are always okay as long as you have the same socket mobo as CPU. RAM can get tricky. Look in the online manual of your motherboard and match the specs they have to your RAM just to make sure otherwise you can get gremlins in your computer like random pauses and lockups that are IMPOSSIBLE to fix without doing crazy shit to the BIOS. Don't ever skimp on the Power Supply period. Buy aftermarket. |

By the way if you want specific help then you can pm me and I'd be glad to talk over AIM or something. I've built two of my own computers for graphics and gaming. Use me if you need. | ||
