I read that INCREASE ur fps by 20-40 !!... well my cfg file has no "autoexec.cfg" so can u guys please help me bring my shitty 30-40 fps up a lil. I have a Nvidea9600 G-card. thanx guys | ||

an autoexec is a file that is put into the cfg folder, it contains commands within it that are used when you play the game. These commands are designed to raise FPS by reducing the amount of things like decals, textures, etc etc. One of the best pre-made autoexecs around there is called Casey's Config. -[link]- at the top of the post (in the link provided) there is a lines that says "Download the .cfg file already created here". Go ahead and download that file, and put it in your cfg folder. My computer >> Local Disc C: (or whatever drive you have CSS installed on) >> Program Files >> Steam >> SteamApps >> your-username >> counter-strike source >> cstrike >> cfg folder. Once you have placed the autoexec into the cfg folder, go ahead and set the dxlevel and heapsize (how to do this, if you don't know, is described at the top of the topic in the link provided, called "launch options") I don't know exactly, but for your card I would suggest setting the dxlevel to 8, 8.1, or 9. It all depends on what that card is optimized for. After setting the dxlevel and heapsize, go ahead and start up your game. You should see a fairly decent gain in performance.
