alright... most of the time I go into FT, or any other server, and after my first join, I get booted, so I rejoin and sometimes I can play for a while, but other times I just get repeatedly booted. I did the tut on how to fix CSS lag, and that helped at first, but now its just gotten out of hand
That is a picture of when I FIRST joined, and look at how high my IN is. Everyone said thats just packets from the server, but that is the only thing im having problems with. I hardly EVER have choke, and if I do its only at 10 for a millisecond, and everythign else was fixed. My rates are set on default because I wanted to try running it normally since after I did the tut, it stopped working after a while.
Any advice on what to do? it doesnt freeze my computer or anything, everythign else runs fine, it just boots me out of the server, and then I have to wait roughly a minute and a half to rejoin... because it tells me "blah blah blah steam user ID is already in use on this server."

i'll write that one down.. thank you sooo much But seriously, what is the problem here? it wasnt this bad like a month or two ago, but now, I cant join a server without getting booted at least twice... |

the page just freezes, and before long in the upper right said it says "LOST CONNECTION TO SERVER" or "WARNING CONNECTION PROBLEM", so then I disconnect, and try and reconnect, but if I do it right away it will say im still in the server plaing, so I have to wait two minutes.. | ||

I've had this problem before, in my case, it wound up being that my modem was timing out the connection to the server. Damn Comcast. Bought a new modem and it hasn't happened again. Do you have a router? if so, I would look into port forwarding your css ports, it may help. Other than that, I'm at a loss. |

restart modem/router/computer (turn off all of them at the same time) then turn them all on again. that might at least temp fix the problem. | ||

Or you can type your router's port address bar, and if you know your router's password, you can disconnect and reconnect, and get a new ip. That might be easier then doing what everyone else did. Go into your MSPrompt, type ipconfig, and the Defalt Gateway should be your router's address you type into the browser. Edited Thu Mar 29 2007, 12:37PM | ||

That error you are getting has to do with your connection. I'm going to go with either your router and/or modem are f'ing up or it's your actual internet provider that has something on their end. I remember I used to get that message and my ping went to shit for a week or so. I contacted my provider and it turns out one of their servers was bottlenecking my connection so they fixed it. Hope you can get your issues worked out as I miss playing with you in game man.

hmm.. I came to realize that we get our router/modem through our internet provider, and since it is low grade generic shit, they expect us to get a new one every year. I called them up and they were all like "Wow, we expected a call from you much sooner. Your router lasted over a year and a half" FTL? anyways... ive been just restarting it over and over, getting all the dust out of it, reconnecting the cords and shit, and ill get a new IP address for it. Thanks guys And wild, ill be on soon enough buddy, thanks
