Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

This thread is for serious replies only. Nothing else will be tolerated and will be deleted. I appreciate you opinions and that is it. Do not spam this to boost post count or w/e. I am looking for answers and advice and will tolerate no other replies. Save the gay jokes for the chat box while you are at it too. So, with that said and done I am guessing that i will get little to no replies! ![]() I am looking to improve my singing voice. I have no experience in singing and have never really tried be4 but now I have a REAL AMBITION and WANT to learn(assuming that is how it works). As much details as possible in answers (assume I do not know anything). Can you learn at later ages or must you be doing int since a young age? Meaning it is not worth it to start now at all. Does it take years to develop the ability/see(hear) improvement? (assuming you can learn it.) Keep in mind i am 18. |

Well, personally, I don't think its a "you have it or you don't" type of situation. I think its a matter of what type of singing you want to do. Certain people's voices are good for different types. Also, sometimes its just a matter of being able to control your voice and hit certain pitches. I would say you just have to find the kind of singing you are good at, and learn to control your voice. Remember, as your mom has probably told you, you can be/do what ever you want to.

I was looking into this for a while too. I suck at music but I rock at writing, so I wanted to be a vocalist. I talked to a vocal major at CCM (A respected music college at UC), and he said you CAN learn to sing, but you will never be able to get to opera levels or anything like that. I later found out I was tone deaf, so that kinda squashed it for me, but you really could get better with a good vocal teacher.

You either have it or you don't. You can become a little better singer through lessons. However, you are limited by your voice. Only those with a good voice for the genre can become a good singer.

i think pracket is bassically got it. if you want to beable to sing well enough to preform solo, then you'll need so natural ability. im in the choir at my school and its a little different in a big group. there are things you can do to improve your vocal like breathing at certain spots, theres different tones you can sing with. but if you are really interested in becomming a better singer i suggest you get some voice lessons. even if a little, that will definately help you out

Some people are born with a naturally nice-sounding voice. Others aren't. That doesn't mean you can't improve your voice though. Before you do that, you kinda need to make sure you have an ear. If you can match pitches you hear with your voice (sing along with the radio in the correct key), then you will be able to sing. Your voice won't necessarily be good though, and that's where the whole learning/practicing thing comes in. |

who are you going to sing for anyway? I agree with pracket if your case is that you dont have it. then you should just try to make your voice as similar to a specific type of singer. Also you must find out what type of genre your voice really fits in. |

It works both ways. You can be born with a naturally beautiful singing voice, and it will come natural. Other times you will need to improve on it by singing along with other songs you like. Some people will also never have a good singing voice no matter what. My advice to you is, find out how you like to sing. Where does your voice sound best (pitch wise)? Where does your voice sit (tone wise)? What music do you like? How fast can you sing? What physical levels can you obtain? By that i mean how long can you hold a note, and how long can you sing for without keeling over from exhaustion. My good friend, if you can answer those questions, then you will find your way. May the force be with you young padwan. |

Your tone, pitch, etc can change, but you can't change your voice unless you want to buy a vocoder ![]() |
