Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

You need to download a program called fraps, and then you need to know how to use windows movie maker. Run cs and make sure fraps is running in the background. play your demo and record it with fraps (the free version of fraps only allows you to record in 30 second incraments). Now find the file fraps created from the recording (fraps files are huuuuge, so you want to delete them after you convert them to wmv). Now open windows movie maker, put your 30 second recordings together and use movie maker to convert your recordings to wmv. there you go, demos outside cs.

I limewired fraps myself, the problem is my computer isnt good enough to run both FRAPS and CS:S at the same time. It goes from a nothing special but just fine 90-100 FPS to a unplayable 3 frames per god damn second! But thanks anyway. EDIT: wait, So your saying record the demo thats allready been filmed before hand with FRAPS? would that make it so my Frame rate isnt in the shitter? Edited Wed Aug 09 2006, 02:13PM |

Yeah, fraps makes me lag too. And I have a pretty good system, I don't know why it does that. I think it would ble good though because you are watching one already recorded.

I have an idea, Record a demo using css. You know waht ever the console command is ummm record. or something. Then watch your demo while recording with fraps. You will know when a good part is coming up becouse you played it before AND it wont disrupt your preformance becouse your just re watching yourself play from before.

To run fraps: Disable ALL GRAPHICS OPTIONS on CS, run at 640x480 Restart Run fraps open css playdemo demo.dem OR shift + f2 press your record button Once you get the file, its uncompressed. You can use many programs (my choice is Sony Vegas) and you compress the file, as avi, wmv, whatever you want |

the thing about putting everything to lowest is kinda weird. You see for each thing i disable I get exactly 1fps faster. I have tried that and the most I can get is 15fps.

That is not the only method. There is a command to export the demo as .bmp's...one sec...let me find it. Okay. You start the demo in the console. You then run the command "Startmovie [demoname] 30". This will run the demo at 30 fps(standard NTSC movie framerate). Now, in your CS:S folder, there will be tons of .tga's with the name [nameofdemo]000#.tga. Download RAD Game Tools (-[link]- Put in all the .tga's, and the .wav file you see into the sound part. This will make it all into a movie. Now, a few other notes to make the movie look best as possible. When you want to export your demo. 1. Set your resolution to 640x480 2. Input "host_framerate 30" as a command. (Note: If you do this, the commands you run to export the movie are just "startmovie [demo]" and then "playdemo [demo]". You should be able to figure out the RAD Game Tools stuff by yourself, pretty self-explanatory. If not, let me know. I'm considering making this into a tutorial. Source: -[link]- |
