Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

so, i start up my css and i get to where its just about to pop up the find a server, create a server, options, blah blah and then it closes out and says "perform module: error" and then another box comes on and says "the instruction at 0x####### referenced memory at 0x#######. the memory could not be 'read'" and then closes to desktop. i looked on steam support and found... -[link]- ... but i tried everything on there and it didnt work. be aware, i've already gone to kiki about this and he was pretty much worthless so gl and hf trying to figure this out.. ive tried reinstalling 3 times, repairing the os, everything it said to do on steam support, and calling valve a fag... help prttyplx. When was the last time you took the time to reformat? No matter how hard I've tried, XP always manifests some form of bug within a year that is irreversible, causing a need to reformat. Perhaps easier said then done tho, I don't know if u have a means of backing your files up (two hard drives ftw) Pretty lousy advice, yes, but for some reason windows doesn't appreciate my attempts to fix it manually so just nuke the fuck outta it and call it good lol Mind you, this is me assuming it is OS related. Reading the article again, they did mention it could be hardware issue. However, since you said that you have already gone down the list of potential issues, including the memory timing one mentioned on the bottom, then we can probably rule that out. Just nuke it and stop bashing ur head against a wall lol Edited Mon Aug 11 2008, 09:58AM |

when I've gotten that error, I've had to move some files around, in general. It might be that you don't have enough memory to play the game, check whats eating your memory, and how many processes are running. If it's a lot, close some. If you can't figure out what to close, go to msconfig (type it in run) and just choose the basics needed to run your computer, then try and run steam again. now if thats not the problem, then check how much physical memory you have left in your harddrive. If it's under 10 gigs, steam doesn't like to run, do to windows/steam casting off a lot of memory (usually over your ram) to your harddrive, and you have to make space. if that fails, you fail. |

i had that problem a year or so ago. Turned out to be my sound card acting up of all things. You say you just reformatted? Make sure you update all you're drivers (especially your graphics and sound cards). Since you reformatted, you have all the drivers that came with your original windows system, and they need to be current to run steam. if that doesn't work, try putting gum in your cd drive and watering your keyboard, that should fix everything. |
