Ok guys let me tell you my goal and perhaps you can guide me how to get there. My goal is to be able to play motivational music/speeches in game via HLSS. What I think I need. HLSS (and a firm understanding of how to use it) and some sort of audio software that will allow me to cut/save clips of songs and convert them to HLSS. Piggy, any advice? Comments? Links? What do I need? What do I need to know? |

Go to hlss.us Here you can download HLSS, a wav/mp3 converter and it has informative how-to instructions. Just follow the steps, very easy.

its not very difficult. just make sure you have it up and open and to convert all your songs...you should be good | ||

Audacity is pretty useful for cutting out clips from songs, editing, and such. Best of all, it's free -[link]- Just an example, I used it to edit the audio in this -[link]- (cut some sounds and added them to another audio file) |

Check out the Sounds folder under cstrike. It has literally hunderds of great sound clips that servers make you DL. There are some hidden classics in there.

I agree with toast that Audacity is a great program. Youtube is a good source of sounds to use with hlss. I know how to get the .flv off of youtube and export the .mp3. First you need Firefox and download this plugin for it -[link]- keep in mind guys that this plugin lets you download any video or sound off of almost any site. Once that is installed click on the tools tab and hover over download helper. You should see a .flv file or something and download it Once that is done you need to extract the audio out of that movie clip so download this tool -[link]- Then follow the procedure on how the hlss tutorial tells you like use dbPower AMP to make the .wav file from that .mp3 you have. Then you Goldwave and turn down the song decibels under the equalizer and export. That is what I do when I come across any sound on youtube that I want to use. Edited Wed Jun 04 2008, 06:44PM |
