Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

So here's the deal: I'd really like to play CS more, FTC in particular, but my computer has been giving me MAJOR problems. So far, all i've been able to identify as the main issue is Norton Antivirus. I have it, it sucks balls by sucking up all the paged pool memory and leaving fuck all available. I've checked steam support, they acknowledge there's a conflict with Norton, but they don't have a fix short of completely uninstalling it, and knowing steam I'll be in my grave before they do get something worked out; microsoft is no help either. To get to the point, I want to get a new antivirus, install it, then take the hard copy of norton out back and shoot it. I'll gather up whatever's left of the disc, piss on it, cover it in gasoline, burn it, scoop up the ashes into a bag, mix the ashes in with concrete, mold a concrete dildo with a hole to conceal a stick of dynamite, and then give it to my worst enemy. Two birds with one stone. So talking with people at my work, I've gotten one main suggestion for a new antivirus: something called "PC silex" or some shit like that. Has anyone heard of it, how is it, and do you have any other suggestions? Failing that, can somebody, anybody, PLEASE give me something that will allow me to play my steam games? Honestly I've just about had it, it started off with only office getting fucked up, but now it's half the servers. I'm at the point of begging. Pleasepleaseplease?? Edit: This is something I'm serious about. If anyone with forum admin could step in and delete non topical replies, it'd be greatly appreciated. Edited Tue Apr 01 2008, 12:27AM |

The one that people have been recommending you is Trend Micro's PC Cillin. They've been relatively new to the market but they've been around dealing with viruses for a while now. Eats a ton less memory than symantec and the protection is damn fine as well. freeware wise they're more known for CWShredder and HijackThis (Powerful tool for catching startups and registry latchers, send me a log if you ever need one read.) As far as what I'd recommend... personally i use avg for my "fun" computers, and kaspersky for my school computer with all the fun networking tools and important stoof. AVG's is small, free, and does a good job of keeping spyware/viruses away. Kaspersky is just a god damn tank, everyone my Professor brings in from NSA to talk to us about cyber forensics and network security tells us "go buy kaspersky" they can't use it for some bs reason like its made in Russia /outside the US but whatever. As far as I've seen, its the only program with a 100% track record of handling pre-infected machines. The only part that pisses me off is that it has HOURLY updates, bad for people who are like rendering in 3d max and all of a sudden CPU is torn away to update virus definitions... :/ oh well. give NoSkill's corporate symantec a shot, although they make norton.... mebe the results might be different? otherwise go with AVG if you want free, or kaspersky/PC cillin if you're going to purchase |

This is the corporate edition, meant to minimize system resource load and run as silently and automatically as possible. I set up nightly scans at like 4:30 am and it catches everything from spyware to virii to adware and more. In addition to this, Ad-aware and Spysweeper my comp has been virus free and smooth running for about 2.5 years. I do ZERO other maintenance and download alot of porn lol. |

Stop Norton processes while you play css? Is hard disk packed to the brim, do you use virtual memory and it has no where to go? Save maps and such and reinstall Steam games? Cha's stuff sounds worth looking into, i.e. Kapersky and HijackThis. |
