Maybe try reinstalling steam/CSS? That worked when this happened to me. | ||

Yeah, I wouldn't doubt the graphic card overheating due to dust, my comp gets HOT. Also I have a dog that's always shedding, so my parents got their laptop cleaned, and it was full of hair.
