I agree aith Noname. Dell XPS's are good as shit. There are some new panasonic ones that recently came out that u might want to look into. If its for school then Mac is good and well below ur budget. | ||

OMNI! what compost said. go to ibuypower.com i just looked over that site like last night, and finding if i could build a good laptop for cheap there. i think i really decent laptop was around 1.8k check it out. i personally believe its probably better than dell's XPS |

If you want a gaming lappy they are pretty pricey. But for a DX9 CSS lappy shouldnt cost too much. Dell owns Alienware now so you may want to look at them. Asus has some good portables too. Most of the price of a laptop seems to be the display (at least it used to be). I'll look around for you Omni. Check these out -[link]- |

To address the topic, I have a Gaming desktop. 2Gigs ram E6750 and EVGA mobo...it is top of the line (i can afford). I want the lappy (i lawed at that  ) for portability. I can take a keyboard, LCD and mouse around to lans and the lappy can stand alone if i need it just for surfing/music and gaming!I like to have all bases covered! lol The point that they are less upgradeable is very valid, so i may just bust my bank and get a UBER laptop with SLI DX10 RAID etc. Alienware = Dell ? Really!? 0.o is suppose that is good? Panasonic Alienware/Dell Ibuypower <-- LOVE THEM, bought 4 comps from them and never any probs, but they dont have any really high end lappys =/ cyberpower (same company as Ibuypower) any other companies i should consider? Thanks for the input. |
