ok I'm a pc fix it guy and know my network stuff but i had to format other day and reinstalled steam ..but when i try to dl CSS it goes like 5 k a sec WTF!!! all otyher game sinstall and download at like 500 k like they should ... only CSS is dling slow no matter what i do.. been trying to dl it for days now.. i did everything on the steam forums they suggested but i dont think steam is the issue i think its this free weekend of dodS that everyone is dling from maybe? like i said i have done all the standard fixes . any idea's? btw today when i try to c onnect to any steam game i get the stupid steam ticket id thing , again i think this is due to the free dods weekend ;( |

The ticket thing is caused by your login. delete your clientregistry.blob then log into steam with your username and password. No idea whats causing the slow dl tho. | ||

well, I re-installed HL2 without the disks yesterday in under a half an hour, it can't be steam. Maybe you have a lot of programs running. When HL2 started to re-install, it was going really slow, but after i closed AIM, YIM, my email and mozilla firefox (and a ton of those needless little tid-bits in the system tray) it speeded right up. Got done in about 30 minutes, maybe less. | ||
