I just downloaded fraps today, and I've been trying to figure out what the best settings would be to record css gameplay. I got it to work on 60 fps, but when I played back the video, it was really choppy and slow. So then I tried recording at 90 fps, and css instantly crashed. So naturally, I thought the program was crashing cause my recording fps was too high, so I put it down to 25 fps. When I tried to record again css crashed, and so did every other program I was running at the time. I had to restart. Please help. PS. I don't know if this is any help or not, but after i tried the 60 fps, I changed the option from full size to half size. Also fraps recorded 1 screen each time it crashed. |

i run fraps at 30 fps, you will notice to change what so ever between 30 and 60. ill have a look and see what you might have done. |

Fraps is a heavy cpu usage app and needs a good pc to run while playing .. I have had best results making recording by making a in game demo type recording then replaying it after while fraps is recording ... makes it very smooth .. then i convert the crappy fraps avi to divx so its smaller . as for setting it really a matter of making a few teest but you will get far better results by recording demos then using Fraps to record the demo you made . | ||

yeah thats what the program is desinged for... not to be ran while playing lol.. thats just asking for FPS lag | ||

4.1 How to record a demo go into console (press "~") type "record demo_name" e.g "record console001" or "record hacker001" type "status" <- this notes their unique steam id so we can identify them type "snapshot" <- this takes a screenshot of what is currently in console (therefore it will take a screenshot of the persons unique steam id. Attach this in a *.zip file with the .dem [demo file]) [note you can also type "screenshot" - it should do the same thing] type "stop" when you want to finish recording the demo. To watch one of the demos you have recorded, to check it for example. load CS and type the following in console: playdemo demo_name to stop watching press "Esc" (escape) and select "Disconnect from Server" |
