Help! my windows vista is saying that I had a significant hardware change and that I have three days to activate it again. When I click activate it says that I need to put my product key down but then when I do it says its already in use. What do I do? | ||

lol i have a stolen copy of windows xp. And i have to do that same thing every time i reformat my PC. Call them up. On the lil folder thingy Vista comes in there should be a few phone numbers to get in touch with Microsoft. Call the toll free one. Its the 1-800 number i believe. If its not on the folder thingy, go to microsoft.com and find it there. When you call you will get an automated thing. Its gonna ask you to read your key number. Its annoying and slow, but necessary. It will then tell you that its already in use. It will transfer you to a representative who doesnt speak a word of english...lol He will ask you the problem. Then he will ask you if your the only person who owns this copy of Vista. Say yes and tell him that you re-formatted your computer and need to install windows again. he will then give you a new key number. This is what i do for Xp, but im pretty sure its the same for them all. |
