Alright I'm not def sure about coming back or not. But it seemed like I did something tonight. So I sent Steam an email about my problem and the guy sent back to me a list of background programs taht interfered with Steam. I had none of those. He also sent 4 links to different antivirus/spyware scanning tools. The first of which was just some anti-virus program. Not too special, besides the fact that they wanted me to uninstall Norton first, I decided I'd go back to that later. The second was a nice SpyDoctor, this little shit was ridiculous. Yay so they put up a free trial to use it! But whaddya know, I scan my computer with it, it shows over 133 'bad' files, and it won't let me hit the clean button until I register. Little fucking fuckers. The third one I'll skip for now and talk about the fourth link. The fourth one was a little special weener. Some blacklight program thingy that basically scanned for hidden files. Seemed nice, but after I found my 1 result of a hidden file, the action was stuck on 'None' and I was forced to click 'Next >' which lead me to nothing. No cleanup, nothing. Go suck a dick. Back to the third link. It was a direct download link and it was this odd program that opened up my Windows Console thingy. And it says it'd remove WareOut, killNclean, SpyMarshal, and UnSpyPC from my system. I had no fucking clue what this all meant. So I decided to use this as a last resort. I eventually used it, and I was forced to reboot. This is where the miracle and the 'I'm so close!' happens. I reboot and one of the first programs to run on my desktop is Steam asking me to login!!! HOLY FUCKBUCKETS!!!! So before I wrote this post, I logged in, and what the fuck. It did nothing. But right now I'm talking to Jesus and re-downloading my counter-strike because *COUGH* somebody gave the smart-ass idea to uninstall and reinstall steam (drunk -.-). So in the end. Tonight I finally did something to trigger Steam. And wish me luck that Steam will keep running for me. As long as possible -.- Edited Fri Apr 27 2007, 03:43AM |

Spybot = pwn. Truly a great freeware at getting rid of spyware. p.s. I can't fix your computer this weekend, too busy playing poker/partying lol. |

Did the thought of just starting over ever cross your mind? I mean a re-format doesn't take that long and i doubt you have THAT many programs that'll take forever to reinstall....quick wipe of the hard drive and everything will be back to normal | ||
