Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

ty ninca. but isnt the other processor a "duel core" or does that not matter when the pentium 4 is 3.4 ghz? lol and i am still torn about the GFX cards... i really like this one, but is it worth it? -[link]- or are one of the other ones mentioned (by me or otherwise) a better choice? and can anyone give me some solid evidence or explain why, exactly? some1 take a look at these two cards? how come one is more expensive they both seem exactly the same to me!! actually i found one difference, one is AGP the other PCI express. is that the only difference? -[link]- about the HDD. i am finding it rather feasible to RAID0 (i think that is what it is called-split the memory so it is faster, right?). but would it matter for the amount of storage? i can get 2 that are ~40 gigs or 250 gigs. comparable prices... and this: the bigger ones (250GB) have Cache 16MB the smaller ones (~40 GB) have Cache 8MB which one is a better idea? ok, another thing. im looking at two very similar GFX cards and one of the specs on it says: Memory Clock 1400MHz(effective) the other says: Memory Clock 1400MHz what is the difference?!! |

As for the cards, AGP is older technology, so its almost always more expensive. As for the other two cards you're looking at, are either of them overclocked? That's one thing that may be the difference between it saying (effective) or not. For harddrives, 16 mb's of cache is nice, but what are you trying to store? Music, normal save files, programs etc, but what else? How much porn do you have? You may not need 250, and even if you get a 250gig, you can partition it down to smaller sizes, one for save files, one for program files, etc.

ninca, the comp would most likely be a mix of: 85% Gaming 10% porn ( ^_^ ) 1% school 4% other after this thread this is what i've come up with: Case -[link]- Hard Drive -[link]- two HDDs in raid0 Graphics Card -[link]- Memory -[link]- two sticks Motherboard -[link]- CPU Cooling -[link]- this will allow me to OC my Pentium 4 3.0 to about 3.6, i think after tax(newegg is located in Cali (damnit!)), shipping-- Grand Total: $732.40 the rest of the components i would salvage from other comps or get from buddies ![]() what do you think?! ![]() note: if anyone has Newegg promo codes i would be very interested in them. |

For one, you didn't post the processor, but I'm assuming you're going with the P4. Don't do what I did, it's really not smart to OC it that much lol.

Point well taken haha. Also, if you're not gonna have many files (i.e. music etc) why bother getting the second harddrive? Save some money and only get one! (Unless I missed some reasoning behind it)

yeah, you did miss something. the kid wants to download copious ammounts of Pr0n One reason for the second harddrive to store porn is, if you get a virus, leave that harddrive alone and keep all the important shit on the main one. |
