Definately don't get Vista Omni. For one, you'd be getting Home Premium, and with that it's a recommended 1 gig of memory, which is also the minimum Vista Premium supports. Most computers (like the one blind suggested) only have 1 gig, and they're both 512 sticks with only 2 slots (only a few prebuilts have 4 slots) making it over $125 to upgrade to something that won't give you FPS lag while playing (assuming you run other apps while playing like anti-virus, limewire/itunes, xfire, aim, etc). With XP, you most likely already have it, and are used to it by now. In Vista, they changed a bunch of shit around, and who the fuck wants to learn another new operating system (unless they have to, like I had to for fucking work)! Also, Service Pack 1 isn't out for Vista as of yet, meaning you can't run limewire, and you can't run iTunes. If you have an iPod, you're fucked and have to use your old computer, or run dual OS's, or use a friends computer. As far as the computer goes, you're better off buying one that's complete, and upgrading just the graphics card. Look on sites for XP computers, you're better off! |

what is the difference between these two? Interface IDE Ultra ATA100 Interface SATA 3.0Gb/s which one is better? looking at HDDs can some1 tell me which one of the 4 Graphic Cards is the best? they all seem to have different strong points =/ Edited Tue Apr 10 2007, 01:34AM |

Yea don't go with Vista it is basically a copy of Mac OS X. Plus it's like running the special Olympics, it tries so hard but fails to do normal things in the end... | ||

SATA is newer, and faster, IDE is older technology. Also, SATA cables are a shit ton smaller making it easier to piece together your computer slightly (I guess?). I'd say go for the BG card, its just a better overall brand. |

iight. Because i love you i will map out easily major parts for you, simply because i just bought the same ones yay! Motherboard -[link]- Processor -[link]- Memory -[link]- Recomended -[link]- Affordable HDD -[link]- Maxtor is the shit. You dont need 1TB of space like i see ppl putting 5 320gb HDD's in the PC's like they gonna use all of it... Not to metion many MB's have problems with RAID0 and RAID1 channels. You dont need it. Case -[link]- Vid Card -[link]- Buy 1 of those to run most games on full settings. Or if you want buy two and run SLI for Ultimate Experience. Easy enough huh?lol |

edit - pentium d 2.8ghz wins, hands down. I didn't read it right the first time  It will also run a bit hotter, make sure you're getting some kickass fans or a really nice case with your system, I recommend the Antec 900. -[link]-Also, look at -[link]- its a site I like to use, some prices are cheaper than newegg too
