no its a family comp. i use it the most out of anyone, but there are some documents my dad NEEDS to keep. (secret service stuff) no, he isnt in the secret service, but with his job he needs to stay in contact with them. |

Well if running all of those things doesn't help, just re-format your harddrive. Tell your dad to take all the crap he needs and put it on a cd or whatever. Then re-format it. | ||

Sounds like a virus. What's the make and model of your: Anti-Virus: Anti-Spyware: Firewall: Eg. Mine are Symantec Antivirus Corporate Full Edition (stolen) Spybot - Search & Destroy Full Version (stolen) I use the Windows Firewall Symantec as backup If you don't have fully registered, updated versions of any of this, get that first. Don't buy it, befriend an IT guy. This is a non-option. First off, if you already have a virus... you're 80% fucked and may need to re-format. Put your anti-virus stuff on a disc, along with all your drivers (mb, gpu, sound card, etc.), Service Pack 2. ANd the installs to all your favorite programs. If you don't have a "Master Disc" you need to quit gaming and do some basic CPU maintenance. Read this too. -[link]- It's a large file, but worth it's weight in gold as far as I'm concerned. Go to school or work and print it out. If you follow it step by step from the beginning, you'll never have another PC related issue ever again, that you can't solve. |
