| Desperately need a new GRAPHICS CARD | ||

my old as fuck NVIDIA 8600 GTS just burnt out all of a sudden so it's pretty much impossible to play css, let alone LoL. I need a new one ASAP I would prefer another NVIDIA i guess since it's really the only brand I'm familiar with but what would you guys suggest? I'm not trying to spend too much on one right now (~$150 max) but i guess if you guys can recommend a good one so I don't have to worry about buying a new vid card for a couple of years, i'll splurge. P.S. I built my own rig so I don't know if there will be any compatibility issues with a new vid card |

I have an ATI 5770, runs everything great. Highly recommend it, I paid a Double whopper(not kidding) for mine, not sure what they go for new. | ||

I would love to know what else is in your system...mainly the processor and the power supply (processor to determine bottleneck if any, and power supply to see what card you can actually power up) but if you are capping out at $150 then one of these... -[link]- -[link]- (more cuda cores) -[link]- (after rebate you hit $150) |

These might be a bit overkill for CS and LoL...not sure about CS:GO. Are you planning on playing new games, like directx11 and shit, or just CS and LoL? |

Lot of popular games have better support for the green team and that is one of the major reasons why i stay with green. In terms of CSGO or CSS it doesnt matter as both teams have great support. Personally i would not go any lower than a 560. For comparison...just one of my GTX460 HAWKS played BF3 on Max settings with 2xAA and 16x AF at 50FPS. Both of my GTX460's max the game out with 4xAA and 16xAF at way over 60fps so i keep vsync on and it is butter. There is only 1 game that causes both my cards to struggle and that is Metro 2033. I run that game at max settings WITH tessellation at 35fps. So i lower the shadow and one of the texture settings down 1 notch to keep it above 50fps. The 60 version of any Nvidia series is a really good budget card. The GTX560 is absolutely stunning. Just one of those cards can almost catch up to my SLI setup. That is how much an improvement the 500 series was over the 400 series. Edited Mon Jul 23 2012, 09:48PM |
