My headset broke yesterday so I'm in the market for a decent and somewhat cheap headset. Anyone have any good options? Pref with a mic, volume control on the cord was kinda nice on my last one but I can live without that. poop |

u buy the headset -[link]- and u buy the soundcard with cmedia oxygen chip, ok? usb is shit. did your dad listen to his music through usb? no. what makes you think you're so different that you can do everything different than him and be ok? the soundcard converts that digital crap into analog sound, then you play the games. Otherwise you listen to eeeerrrrrooooeeeeeeeee instead of real sound and confuse your brain. Natural sound = natural playing. eventually when you people start buying nice things like me you'll feel as if you're sitting at your window with a keyboard and mouse listening to birds chirping instead of suffocating your brains with garbage. |

anything with a dolby digital decoder should be fine. I use dolby digital live to decode my signal. It'll say in the specs, but the c-media oxygen chips really did seem to sound better when i upgraded from my razer ac-1. -[link]- you see all those specs? every single word of that is better than what you get by plugging into your motherboard. the only reason you would spend more on a soundcard is for more decoding options or to hear 192khz sound, but you get 24-bit signal processing power instead of 16-bit. sweet deal I say.
