There is no real hype because this isn't even in beta. But the idea is solid and it could turn into something more than what it seems. Imagine study groups in google wave. Everything is in real time like you were sitting at a table with each other, except if you miss a part of it you can rewind to catch it. You can peer review papers in real time, with multiple people working on it. You could have a business meeting without leaving your cubical, for free (most of those real time programs cost $$) You could work on a report with someone without having to send files back and forth. There is a lot more, I probably just haven't thought about it. |
