RATE MY BUILD! My dad decided that 11 years was enough for his desktop and asked me to put something together for him for around $500. Tell me what you think of what I got. CPU -[link]- Mobo -[link]- RAM (x2 to make 4GB) -[link]- HDD -[link]- Optical Drive -[link]- Video Card -[link]- PSU -[link]- Case -[link]- Subtotal $629.91 Mail in Rebates -$45 ----------------------------- Total cost $584.91 |

go with this ram i think its the same stuff but in 2 gig sticks and will end up being cheaper -[link]- how bout this graphics card? save 50 bucks. really good card too. -[link]- hard drive i wouldnt go with seagate. people have been having alot of troubles with them i bought the same processor and mobo for my build (which should come either wednesday or thursday). and dont count on the rebates. from reading the reviews most companies offer a rebate as a sales ploy but never accept them overall good build. some money could be saved on some parts which would allow you to get a better case (or some beer). |

I'm not familiar with HIS (but then again, I don't really know the brands that deal with ATI). Also I was looking at an ATI card, but for that I think I would have to bite the bullet and go with a 4850, just cause they are the balls. I wasn't sure if leaving open ram slots was a good idea, so that's the only reason I went with the 4x 1GB. If that's ok, I have no problem switching to 2x 2GB. |

I might actually go with that build, but pick a few different options. The case is sufficient enough for me, as is the processor and RAM. Pretty decent build for that price, could play Crysis maybe on medium to medium high settings. I already started saving up for it, so I'm going to order the case and mobo to start. | ||

The new call of duty modern warfare 2 will be using a graphic engine similar to the Crytek Engine in crysis... Super... now i have NO CHOICE but to create a $2500 build. Oh well.. BTW, using only 2 slots of RAM is better then 4 slots. Lets potential hardware problems as well as no restriction for future upgrades.
