Okay so I have a shitty computer, I get it, I know it, whatever.. I always thought that it was just a shitty Video card... but I guess I'm wrong. My computer hasn't been running tip top lately, but lag areas are normal. Well today, I was looking into downloading Microsoft Office 2007 with a keygen for the start of the school year since I already have homework. So I come home, look for the best ones, and get them.. Computer starts running like shit RIGHT after I start this download, so I'm worried if it was the Keygen or the Program, so I go about my business, update my Spybot Search and Destroy, run a scan to see if I can get anything. While it's running and I'm watching a downloaded episode of Heroes, my computer shuts off, blue screen with "Fatal error - windows had to shut down" Meanwhile, right before this, Spybot kept giving me a message saying "OMG OMG DUDE REBOOT S&D AND RESCAN!! SOMETHING IS FUCKED UP!! SO BAD WE CAN'T EVEN HELP YOU!!" and whether I cancelled that or clicked yes, it wouldn't go away, so I went back to my show and ignored it. After the bluescreen I'm like fuck, I don't want to lose all of my shit on this harddrive before I update my computer So what do you guys think it is? I KNOW I have to reformat, and I've been wanting to do it for 2 weeks I'm just waiting for my brother to bring home his External HD. Do I have a virus? since S&D can't scan what else should I use? I'm scared  EDIT: I forgot to mention, My Firefox browser is FUCKED! I can't go to ANYTHING but google, and Fishtankclan. No yahoo, no facebook, no youtube, no myspace, fucking NOTHING! and right when all these problems started, I had a windows balloon pop up saying "Automatic updates shut off! you may be at risk!" and NOTHING will let me turn them back on, wtf is wrong

First, let me ask where the hell did you go to get this keygen, if it was one of those fucked up ones that have porn ads all over and shit, it probably has a virus, common sense. If you're gonna get a keygen, I recommend getting it from either a more safer site or just DL one off a torrent. Just use your head to know if it's a good site or not. I would reformat if I were you, you look like you already have/had problems, reformatting is an easy way to fix stuff, though it's a pain to do. Good luck. |

windows update shutting off on its own is often one of the first things a virus does. get a hijack this -[link]- log and post it on some some geek forum (bleeping computer has a good one -[link]- ). They'll point out if anything is running on your comp that shouldn't be there and will often direct you to the fixes. P.S. I thought you were building a whole new computer? I started off of some cracked site, but a keygen I got off of Bitche finished first, so I cancelled it. I thought that maybe, just maybe this hopefully wouldn't have been it... but I see that it was... Well, I deleted it, and THAT problem is gone, but it left some other fuckups... some that won't go away... This will be my "leave the light on" thread considering I don't guarantee this thing working by tomorrow. I fucked up, but I guess it's good that it happened before school got really going. I should be back by the end of september. I'll keep you guys up to date on my sister's comp if Bandito comes through with the CDs |

Thanks, I'll try and look into the site, but I can't get onto anything but Fishtankclan... so I think I'm fucked there.And I was going to build a machine... but I don't have the money... and I now have to wait for christmas or end of the year before I go to college for my parents to pay for it... Reformat. That's all. Go to the library. Go to TweakGuides here -[link]- click XP. Print out the guide, reinstall XP using the steps. Then in the following order: Install XP Install MB Drivers Install Graphics Drivers Install Sound Drivers Install Any Peripheral Drivers Install Internet Software Run Win Update Immediately upon getting online Install Anitvirus & Update Install Malicious Software Removal Tool Run both Antivirus & Malware Remover Then & only then, Install the rest of your programs or being browsing the internet. Or don't. You probably have no idea what I'm talking about anyway. Maybe you can find a job doing some physical labor. Like carrying sacks of potatoes or buckets of rocks. Then you can pay someone $250 to do all that for you (assuming you have the software) If you don't have the software... well you know...
