I did a play called "The Laramie Project" in school which was about (real life events) a gay kid named Matthew Sheppard who got beaten and killed by two guys named Aaron McKinney and Russel Henderson. The play (The Laramie Project) was basically just a compilation of interviews conducted by members of the Tectonic Theater Project. 10 people set out for Laramie and conducted interviews with the townspeople (Laramie, Wyoming) and over the course of one year they did two hundred interviews. As hard as it was to do that play, watching this video brought up memories: Fred Phelps. Fred was a part of the play I did... Guess what he did? He protested against Matthew Sheppard on the basis that he was gay. Fuck, If I could only find my script I would post some of the shit he said... It was disgusting then, and now he has already set it down two generations. Perfect. 20:16 "Cry aloud"... that is something I remember Fred Phelps preaching in Matthew Sheppard's case in The Laramie Project.. Edited Sun Aug 12 2007, 06:39PM |
