Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Noname|Boom wrote ... [ No, I'm just sick of every Trance song I hear having the EXACT same beat as the last one, and repeating it through the whole fucking song and people saying it's the shit. Thats the problem with people these days.... Every techno/trance/house beat is more or likely the same. They are called "1/4 beats" or "quarter beats." Its the basis of every techno/trance song. There are others that use certain variations of offbeats, and some use 1/8 beats (personally i hate). Its the sound effects and synthesizers that make up the music. It puts into sound, what that person if feeling when they make the music. Dont criticize it. There are many different sounds and synths in many different songs. Ever listen to reggaeton? Listen to their beats. Its the same exact beat for every song. Yet many people love the music, and many love to dance to it. Even rock music... Although rock music in general has the most variations in beats, i have listened to thousands of rock songs over my life time and still found that many of them have similar beats. If you pay attention you can pick out similar ones. Im a drummer, so that means my sole purpose is to learn the beat to a song and keep it. Ive played many different new and classic songs, and quite a few have similar beats. Same thing goes for RAP. If you want to criticize someones favorite music, please know what your talking about before you do it. And if you dont like trance/techno, go to a club that plays it, and then say you dont like it. Its like no other experience. Now back to the subject at hand. Knight, that first song you listed, i just listened to it like 847292 times already, its AWSOME! My personal favorites are all done by Armin Van Buuren. These are all Buuren remixes that r personal favs found on "A State of Trance 2008." Interstate - I Found You Nu Frequency - 808 M.I.K.E. - Massive Motion Stel & Good Newz - Inertia Blank & Jones - Perfect Silence Other good ones are: Tiesto - Contact Benny Benassi - Bring the Noise (Remix) Benny Benassi - I Love My Sex Robert Miles - Children Scatman John - Scatman Tiesto Ft Kirsty Hawkshaw - Just Be Tiesto - Imogan Heap (Hide and Seek Remix) Edited Sun Oct 05 2008, 10:17PM |

I thought I did know what I was talking about, but I guess not according to you. All I'm saying is that it's the exact same SOUNDS also, not just beats, I know most genres have the same beats as others, but yes I do like Rock/Indie/Alternative music for that reason. I don't listen to reggae much so I wouldn't know, but I wouldn't be surprised. You can't spell crap without rap. I'm not trying to pick a fight or criticize anything, I'm just stating my opinion, I wanna say "fuck off" but I know that's immature. The point was that the whole songs were just the same "quarter beats," never changing. I do like SOME Trance songs and I usually listen to more "dance" techno at the least, not just the "bass then clap" sound that most have, -[link]- just for example. Not reggae, REGGEATON. not even close to similar.
I agree with boom, however, a good ammount of them have lyrics, which durastically changes the song and makes it a whole lot different and better than the next one.
Armin played at a rave I was at last night, tbh. he's hawt.
Even though it all does sound similar, when the lyrics come in it's UHMAZING |

This stuff just doesn't feel like music to me. I can't explain it. It just does not have ONE redeeming quality in my mind. But if you want to talk about Rock or Rap or anything like that, I'm all ears. |

The idea of trance is what glitch said, the synths, arps, etc. If I listened to the music for the drum beats, then I might as well listen to rap. The beat is the most nauseating aspect of the music for me. If a trance song can make me feel like I'm floating, or just give me the backwards feeling and sooth my nerves then it is worth listening to in my book. Some songs just sound plain out awesome. Trance is not really meant for dance, depending on the beat. House is the shit you hear in clubs, along with electronica. Trip hop is the more smooth part of techno, that's artists like Crystal Method. Then there is ambient, which is like Portishead. It's all whatever moves you. If you like the constant thumping while feeling horny on E, then house/electronica is for you. If you want to relax, well, that's what trance/triphop/ambient is for. I'm not too much of a fan of lyrics in my songs when it comes to listening to techno, but as you can see there are a few that I like that I added in there. There are more that I know of but didn't put into the thread. I want to keep this thread going as I always find new stuff all the time listening to Pandora. Glitch if you liked what you saw in this thread, go to Pandora and put Esteura as the artist name. More than half of the songs played on that station are excellent. It's how I find my shit, and then I find the songs on Youtube and instantly add them into my favorites and use my little method of getting the songs off of there and using them as mixes. |
