Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Alcohol-Powered wrote ... That's an interesting idea about maintaining scores but I am certain some people would have issues with that. Start a new thread and we can discuss it there. so why not? personally, i love the fact that i can leave and come back to a fresh start, it also encourages me to play. other servers piss me off when i leave and come back to the same score. but thats only my opinion, what do U think? |

I think it would be nice if there was a time limit between your disconnect and rejoin like 5 minutes max. And if you do join in that time it give you an option to start fresh or use saved score. Say Pracket is on for 6hours and has a nice score going, then his computer crashes. He'd be like 6 HOURS FOR NOTHING MOTHER FUCK. And wouldn't ever come back. Or something like that you get the point |

There is a plugin that can be customized in this manner. -[link]- sm_savescore_allow (default: 1) - Enable / Disable this plugin It actually does more than just save a score for a specified amount of time. There is also a 'cash memory' that remembers the cash amount if a person reconnects, or goes spec then back to a team. (So you won't lose your $10gs and have to start back with $800 if you were to hop in spec then back to a team.) Maybe something like this is worth tossing up on the Development server and gauging feedback? Like Mad noted, its common practice for players to reconnect to the server as a way of resetting their score if they get off to a bad start. Many players will hop onto FTC 'cold' and start off with really shitty scores. After taking a few rounds to 'warm up', they might reconnect and play for real with a fresh score. -OR- With a 'save score' mod, players who get kicked from Spec (the new AFK plugin), timeout, comp crash, voluntarily leave because of prolonged AFK, etc... will be able to rejoin and play with the score/money they had and won't lose a nice KDr, 100+ kills, etc. 2 different sides of the same stat-whoring coin. ![]() |

Some will just accept not being to reset scores and play anyways, but others will get annoyed and play elsewhere. Do we ignore this concern? |

not to speak for the whole fish tank community but... i see sooo many people leave and come back just to reset scores i think it would really be a problem to have saved scores, even to wait 5 minutes for a score to re-set. |

I like the way it is now, honestly. I always reconnect if i have a bad start. The servers with saved scores just annoy me to hell. And for those who have 100+ kills, usu they are the nice players nd it only takes them bout half an hour to get that score back. I say we do no changes to this part of FTC server. ^ thas my opinion Edited Mon Nov 19 2007, 06:24PM |

cant we just have a plugin that works like... type "SaveScore" and it saves it. So save it regularly and no worries. And the people who dont want that, a.k.a. "me" wont type savescore.

i dont see y u would wanna save scores anyway. So in that case i like glitch's idea if it is feasible. otherwise goose's first idea is best. (assuming we choose to have a stat remember-er) |

I agree with Mad and Kill Time. I like being able to come back to a fresh start. If I get off to a bad start, it would discourage me from reconnecting later if I knew I would just be in the hole. If we had to do this, I would prefer to have something like Glitch noted where it forced user interaction to enable the save score option.
