Yes, we hate them. I was called onto Ft just now to kick some specs, and when i got on, there was no admin, and 5 specs and 1 afk for like 11 rounds. And it was like that for a while. I dont know if this came up already, but i want to know what you guys think about a mod to auto kick specs after a specific amount of time, and auto kick afk after X amount of rounds of not moving... I dont know the complications with mods like this, so maby someone could enlighten us a bit if there are any. But something like this could be useful. Discuss |

I think the problem with it is that lets say u are on spec. So first off u go get some pizza or food. That takes 5 mins. So after that 5 mins, u get people that say u someone is hacking, so u have to sit on spec for another 5 mins. Now i don't want to get kicked while i am specing someone to see if they are a hacker. I think if we can figure out something that will kick the spec but like maybe set it for a little bit longer for admins, it might work. I think we do need something to kick the specs b/c alot of times, no admin is on FTC or on xfire. | ||

They used to have that since CSS started, I'm not sure why we don't have it, but I think it's a great idea. I think after 5 or 6 rounds you should be auto-kicked, maybe longer. I don't think there'd be anything to lose from such a simple mod... | ||

I agree. This would be a great mod to add. And, Drunk, to address your concern, I'm sure we can add admin IPs to an immune list. |

Admins can be immune. this mod has been around forever and is sooo customizable, you can even go so far to make it not kick ANYONE with the FT tag Spectator is useless unless used by admins. I personally feel there shouldnt even be a choice in the [Teams] to go spec. It takes 10-45 seconds to connect. THAT IS IT.(downloads are exceptions) |

I agree with the idea. There are a lot of times that I try to get on the server and wait 10 minutes only to get in and find 4-5 specs sitting there. It's annoying. Also we have some horrible violators of the go AFK for multiple round (i.e. - fatjeff). Would be great to have a mod that kicks the specs after x amount of time with immunity to admins and/or FT members. I have been on the {OBC} server that slays you when you are AFK after a certain amount of time in the round and then auto moves you to Spec. That would be a cool mod to have on the server also. Good ideas Glitch. Wonder what Alex thinks about all of this and the feasibility of all of this. |

The one I had was set to if you are afk for 3 rounds, moves you to spec, then if you are in spec afk for 10 rnds would kick you. Works simple | ||

i honestly have no problem with people sitting in spec as long as the server is not within a few spots of full. It helps populate the server if you think about it. But when the server gets to having 19-20 of the 22 limit then I kick specs unless the spec is Omni, Alex, ect. Edited Mon Nov 12 2007, 05:04AM | ||
