Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I think as a T it can be really hard to rush then camp. It seems like if I ever do it alone, I'm scared for my life of getting shot from all directions except behind me, and not having any backup, I feel more forced to camp closer to spawn if anything. Same goes for CT, It seems like when I do rush a certain place (at most times) The t's could be enraged and charge the spot before I even show up, almost forcing me to step back - being considered spawn camping only 10 seconds into the round. I don't think T's should be slayed for camping anywhere, if anything it throws off the CT team a bit if they seem a little erratic in their playing. I can say that I do fear a T stabbing me in the back each time I go front office =) I consider this.. It shouldn't be called non-objective if a Terrorist is camping at all.. What I think is that when there is 40 seconds or less in the round, if he is outside of spawn/away from the hossies, any sort of camping can become strategic and more useful than sitting with the hostages (element of surprise) if anything. Do you know what I mean ? Eh.. |

Pockyninja wrote ... I think that as long as the terrorist is proventing the counter terrorist from leaving with the hostages then they are doing their objectives. Of course they could be slayed if they are no where near the ct when the ct turn in hostages. rofl @ spelling preventing. good job. j00 phail at spelling. anyways. what pocky said, i've seen t's camp snowman when they are last alive. they should def be slayed. |

Mr wrote ... Anyone that camps inside of cabinets is either going to get knifed by a smart CT, or will knife a bunch of idiot CT's. Why would you slay them and ruin a good laugh for yourself? Thank you. Wu was the one who taught me how to rush front office. 8 out of 10 times you aren't going to spawn anywhere close enough to actually get into the front office before a CT gets in the window or up the front stairs. The times you do actually make it, most CT's are smart enough to check the cabinets. If they don't then they figure it out really quick if you knife a few of them one round and you can't pull that trick off again for a few minutes or until a bunch of the CT's leave and new ones show up. Same thing goes for sitting in the cabinet in storage waiting for a CT to get the hosties. You can hear the hostie say something to the CT which is when I wait a second to pop out and knife them or I get shot in the face. Either way, everyone laughs and has a good time in the game. Remember, it's still a game. T's are supposed to camp. Whole point of the map. Those who have been around on the map know which spots they can camp outside of the storage room if the CT's are getting hosties to take the correct angles on a CT instead of running around in circles on the map. No slay to T's. |

Non-objective camping: is simply that. it does not imply that the camping in question has to be 100% fool-proof and sucessful. but rather a viable strategy. if a Ts i camping at front enterence it is ok. but it also depends on the situation. most Non-objective camping is made "on the fly". as all instences will differ from one another. but if the Ts is in front enterecne and it is a 1v3or4 then he has VERY limited options (,generally). so it is not good to hide in the middle of gerage where he is BLATENLY expected. so have a sence of understanding. and most of the time if it is skilled or experenced player it is obvious if they are stalling, or deviating from the objectives=non objective. that all make sense. unedited. to lazy =/ |

A major rewrite of expected admin and player policies are in the works (I mean it this time, no bullshitting!) "Serial Camping" is something that warrants punishment, but a decision by a T "on the fly" to pick one of a few probably routes should not be seen as the T trying to waste everyones time with needless camping; however, tf a T picks snowman as his strategy to defend a solo hostage rescue... well, slay away! I know I should address more of the points raised here, but I'll try to consider the comments on this thread in the upcoming admin/player policy and we can go from there. |

I really don't think a T should ever be punished for camping because the hosties are always there for the CTs to get. Unless, of course, all the hosties are dead. Pay closer attention, please. The context was: Alcohol-Powered wrote ... ...but a decision by a T "on the fly" to pick one of a few probably routes should not be seen as the T trying to waste everyones time with needless camping This means I am against punishment of T's for picking one of several reasonable strategies for defending hostages. A T may pick the wrong spot to defend, but if he or she is down to a few or zero teammates the remaining T(s) may not be able to cover all exit routes. As Omni pointed out, if T's react to a hostage rescue in progress and defend in spots that smart CT's know can cover all paths to the rescue zones then it really is a disadvantage to the T's. T's shouldn't be forced to pick the method of defense that guarantees the highest probability of a face to face firefight. They should be able to find a happy medium of being able to eliminate CT rescuers but they should also be given the opportunity to be creative about how they do so. And yeah, they (Terrorists) should be able to take a gamble and commit to one exit path while potentially leaving others open. So with that in mind, please consider a previous statement of mine: Alcohol-Powered wrote ... [if] a T picks snowman as his strategy to defend a solo hostage rescue... well, slay away! Do ya feel me now? |

Yeah, the "slay away" is what I was kind of disagreeing with. Like I said I don't think a terrorist should ever be slain for camping anywhere. In my opinion they are not holding up the game because, like I said, the hosties are always there for the CTs to get. | ||

So you believe there are absolutely no circumstances where a T may be considered non-objectively camping? |

I don't think there's any way to accuse T's of camping ever - even in the example given by the OP. I find it really annoying when Ts camp hardcore. First when I'm on the Ts its really annoying to have no "backup" when rushing (read "people on my team to bait"). Second, on an "inexperienced" CT team, they just get in my way when T's camp. Invariably CTs sit main doors all bunched up and/or long/long side hall all bunched up. For me I take the chance that an admin won't slay me and sit there until there are only a few CTs left on my team. Then I make my moves (oolala!). For me most times its worth the risk of getting slain for non objective camping to have the option to kill Ts without getting shot by my team or having my team do stupid shit in front of me that gets me killed. On topic, I think its fine whatever Ts do. Their job isnt to camp as was mentioned (I hate when people say that) - its to #1 protect the hostages, and #2 kill all the CTs. There are many ways to accomplish both. I mean FTC is one of the few servers I play on that lowered the round time, so I'm seriously grateful for that. That in itself should deter CT camping, and with quality players, it should never allow a T to camp outside of hostie rooms - ever. Anyway, this post was all over. Thanks for the quality server and quality admins. I enjoy playing with/against most of you. |
