Last I checked cl_restrict_server_commands = 1 (default) prevents servers from running the "connect" command on clients, which makes redirection irrelevant. | ||

Seeing as how clients are perfectly able to connect to FTC with cl_restrict_server_commands = 1 (or 2) in the first place, what makes you think their cl_restrict_server_commands cvar will be set to anything other than 1 (or 2) in the first place? You might as well try to tell me that no one throws Alkaline batteries in the trash and takes them to proper disposal facilities, uses paper instead of plastic, and recycles.  We know these are (sometimes but) rarely true, same as cl_restrict_server_commands being set to anything other than 1 (or 2!)

Turesay. Plus the redirect made sense when it redirected the overflow to another Office server. All it takes is for a few people to hop on FTD2 then more will come. Not that many people want to be the "first one's in" but all is takes is a few to get the ball rolling. | ||

A few people have said we just need a few people in the server... it's like this on any server... this is why surf is either empty or has 8+ people in it normally. | ||

valve ruined it! redirect is good. you will get redirected ONLY when you cant paly in the server n e way. but w/e. it is possible ot make it mandatory to paly in a server and have cl_restrict.. set to "0" but that would not be a good idea. oh well. thanks for the thoughts and concerns, everyone. |

Lith type cl_restrict_server_commands in console to change it, for CAL config'd servers Ive had to change it, u can also save it in the notepad file containing your settings if u want it permenent. | ||
