Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Glad to see you asking to make sure you are squared away gage. All the rules for the server can be found by typing MOTD in game. Specifically, the Terrorists can camp as much as they want. That's the point of the map so you can camp wherever as a Terrorist. The server rule for CT's is that any CT camping more than 20 seconds will be slayed. That is mainly for those that just sit in the snipers nest in the garage, sit in the garage itself, sit in the front office, or sit by the back window and don't move. The rule is in place since there is very limited time on the map and you need to get the 4 hostages back to the garage in order to complete the mission. If you sit by the window for 20 seconds or so while everyone is in a firefight for the projector room watching their backs to make sure no T's come running down long hall from behind then that's cool. But if you're the last one left and are just sitting there then some of the admins may slay you if you just camp out. Obviously there is some strategy involved in sitting there after the firefight in hopes that a T comes rushing out to find the last person and you shoot him in the head. But there is a fine line between strategy and not being willing to throw a flashbang into the room and rush the T's in hopes of winning the round. That's why you have flashbangs and smoke. I believe the best thing would be to wait for some of the admins to post their views on this thread and they can better explain what they look for. Glad to see you are looking for some clarification gage. |

When your a T you can camp anywhere you please their objective is simply to stop the CT from rescuing hostages though if you did something compleatly stupid like you camp snowman all round and no one comes over there you might get yelled at. The rule is simply "CT Non-Objective camping 20+ seconds = admin slay" So the CT thing isn't going to run to well. You got 20 min to sit still but you need to move towards your objectives as a counter terrorist. If till the heat cools down is in 20 secoudns then it is all cool for sure. Though you will get yelled at if there are only like 40 seconds in the round and you do that. Also it can be deputed that your camping there is part of your objective since your trying to safely get the hostages and it is very close to the objectives. I think you should just try to move as fast as you can though to avoid problems because this is a thing that can go ether way. Personally I might remind you about it depending on the situation and the time you sit there for. I hoped that cleared it up a bit but to sum up (because I type a lot more then I need to). Ts can camp where they want when they want to. Cts have a limited camp time of 20 seconds so try to keep your camping in that rage to avoid problems. |

agree with wild. I am also glad u asked this question as to ppl comming on here bitching about admin abuse because they got slayed for camping. At least u are smarter then most ppl and clear this thing up before hand to avoid any possible conflict. When ur T u can camp in cabinets or do watever. Jerk off in the corner if you want the whole round. It wont get you the victory, or it wont get u in trouble, but it will score u points with bubble or wild. All in all as a CT just keep moving. Play strategic in all situations. If your the last one or one of the last ones left then just rush into the room to also avoid conflict. Works 50% of the time. Edited Wed Jan 24 2007, 04:59PM |

Ahem, I can't speak for Goose but I only like it when they leave me presents in the corner to find. Unless Fetus is playing, then we "spend time" together in our spawn. Speaking of Fetus, that link that he gave us in this forum is pretty good thread about CT office camping. |

If you're camping in cabinets in the Paper room with a knife and a CT rushes past you into Proj and kills half of your team just so you can sneak up behind him for the knife kill... Then that's a pansy move and you won't score points with your dead teammates, but its not illegal, just bad form. The point of having a 'Don't camp rule' is to avoid needlessly overly-defensive play by CT's when the situation really doesn't call for it. With 2:15 a round, sitting in an area and waiting for a T to stumble by kinda pisses off the *DEAD* players who want to get back in the game. If an admin is on then you will get a warning in green text. If you do it again you will get another warning then a slap or a slay or something. If you repeatedly do it while ignoring written messages, then slays and kicks will be issued.... But not to sound too harsh or anything, most 'first time' offenders or people who get trapped in garage from a T rush won't (or rather, I could say shouldn't) get punished right off the bat. If you've managed to overtake the T's from their garage rush yet you REMAIN in the garage, then that's a different story. If you're a CT in T spawn and you're about to make entry into the Projector room yet you are being obviously cautious, then that's fine. The point is to prevent habitual and unnecessary camping by CTs round after round and hopefully you can decipher these jumbled examples and get a general understanding behind why these rule is enforced. Back Window seems to be a hot topic as of late. Experience dictates that this area is a 'high nade' zone and CT's approach the area cautiously espectially when Ts are camping beside the bookshelves or behind doors. My advise is to keep it moving and if you don't see any T's, then advance with team members and flashes. You can run from back window to the Hosties in Proj in under 10 secs, so keep that in mind too. Likewise, the sniper nest in CT spawn is useful and part of the map. If you want to scout it and pick off a few T garage rushers, then do so. (When I had my mic I would notify fellow CTs of how many were going garage or if it was clear.) The secondary sniper nest that looks into front office can be utilized too if the T's make it a habit of rushing there. Likewise, the snowman windows can be used to counter a T front office rush. The point is to 'use' these areas of the map without exploiting them at your team's expense. 20 secs is enough time to realize whether or not the T's are approaching, and if there is no action, then advance. The best advice I can give is, don't make CT camping a habit and take note of the situation. Use TAB to see how many ppl are alive and take note of Radar and voice commands to know where teammates and hotspots are. |
