Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Admin Protocol 1. Don’t abuse your powers. 2. Warn, slay, kick. That’s a sequence, not an adlib. 3. Permanent bans are reserved for hackers. If someone is being unruly, smack em with a day or an hour. They can always earn another ban. 4. Don’t abuse your powers. 5. Demo anyone you believe is hacking. Sufficient evidence is important. Record their steam ID, inform them they are being banned for hacking, and tell them they can take it up with us at fishtankclan.com. All demoes will be reviewed IF AND ONLY IF the player requests it by thread on the forums. Final say on unbanning is given to the Lead Admin team. This same thing goes for non-admins: If you think someone is hacking, demo them. Write down their steam ID. Tell us to review your demo. We will then apply punishments accordingly. 6. Mute is a tool that keeps the server populated. Use it when necessary. Don’t ban because someone is mic spamming. 7. Don’t abuse your powers. 8. Don’t talk about fight club. 9. Don’t abuse your powers. 10. Broadcast the clan. Broadcast the forums. Ma_say is a great tool. Be original, never archaic. If you enjoy playing with someone, add them to friends. Invite them to play. Talk to them about joining the clan and the requirements to do so. Administration and marketing are one entity in Fish Tank Classic. 11. If you don’t know, ask. 12. Patience isn’t a virtue, it is a RULE. Maintain your composure, regardless of the asshole that is bothering you; regardless of whatever sauces and/or herbs you’ve ingested; regardless of your shitty day: you will be POLITE and KIND and RESPECTFUL if you want to be or remain an admin in Fish Tank Classic. 13. Before you move an AFK player to spectator, SLAY THEM. It happens often that they are the last player in the round. It will not register the round over if they aren’t dead. 14. The Golden Rule: AT ALL TIMES YOU WILL REPRESENT THE CLAN, THE SERVER, AND THE COMMUNITY WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT AND YOU WILL NOT TARNISH OR DISPARAGE THE IMAGE OF THE CLAN IN ANY PUBLIC FASHION. If you have a complaint, lodge it with formality and without accusation. We won’t tolerate any he said/she said bullshit. 15. This is both a guideline and a rulebook. If a situation that is not covered comes up, use your best judgement and/or discuss with another member of the admin team. |

I'm surprised I haven't seen something like this earlier, this is perfect, well written and encourages populated servers. Should be stickied somewhere methinks. | ||

Don't worry it will be. We want to get the lead admin thread out of the way first before we officially sticky some threads about admin protocol and delegation of powers. Stay tuned. EDIT: You forgot rule #16 which is "Don't abuse your powers." Also Rule #17 which is "If this is your first day as admin, you HAVE to admin." Edited Tue Jul 31 2012, 12:32PM |

Okay, going through your policy here publicly I guess just to address some issues that I have with this. Rule #2: Warn, slay kick. Okay, this is a bit different than Alex's escalation procedure, which might I add, has worked flawlessly. That procedure, which has mysteriously disappeared from the forums, went a little something like "Warn, slay, kick, warn, ban." I thought it worked pretty well. Close to your version, but a little more verbal fun. Rule #3: Permanent bans are reserved for hackers. I wholeheartedly disagree with this right here. Does the names MikeyB, Dreiz, Kernell32dll, etc., come to mind? Those guys were huge bags of douches, and they should NEVER have the privilege to play on any of our servers. Banning the same person numerous times for the same offense is kind of redundant, so after at least 2 bans, they're not going to learn. Rule #6: ....Don't ban because someone is mic spamming. From what I understand, when you mute, it is a permanent mute. If they're a repeat offender (again, 3rd time is a charm) leave them muted. If they start TKing in a fit of rage, they should be banned. Other rules you guys may consider adding: Any server changes, plugin additions, etc., can be posted in the FTC forums, but will only be implemented by a vote. If this requested plugin is UNSTABLE, an operator can override this request if they know/believe it will cause problems in the server. This is pretty important, considering we have done a lot of testing on our current plugins before we released the server to the public. There are a lot of cool plugins out there, but a lot of them severely downgrade performance. People bitch about enough shit, you do not want to deal with that, trust me. There will be no bribes or money exchanged for administration powers, period. If you wish to donate towards the server, please use the donate link provided in the 'donate' thread or in various signatures found throughout the forums. This will NOT guarantee you administration power, so do not expect anything by donating. This rule explains itself. Money may get you power in the real world, but it will not get you shit here. I am unsure about how I would word this as a rule, but I believe that we should have something drawing the line when it comes to poking fun verbally in the server, especially at someone's race, color, speech impediment, etc. I have seen on numerous occasions where I thought people personally have crossed the line. I understand that this will vary by judgment with different admins, which is why I think that some of you should swallow your pride and abide to some sort of a guideline. It isn't fair to the person whom is the culprit. I have seen an example of this with AKS. He speaks English that I can understand, but it isn't the best, and he has been ridiculed for it. You be the judge of that, all I'm saying is something should be done about it. |

Under no circumstances will anyone ever buy admin to FTC. We don't need a rule for that. I'd resign if that ever happened. As for bans, I get it. I'm not saying some trash should be allowed infinite chances. I'm saying a random person who comes in and TKs or pisses us off for 5 minutes doesn't need a lifetime ban. If he does it continually, yeah, get rid of him. As for warn, slay, kick, I thought it was implied that continual rule breaking would more than merit additional punishment. Which is why the next rule was about temporary bans. We can't just permaban every asshole in CSS from our server, because then no one would be able to log in. |

It's just that if they come back and act like a dick after I just kicked them, they should be given a time-out. Too many time-outs should warrant a permanent ban, because quite frankly, I can't be the only one with short patience when it comes to this. |

Is there something wrong with the mute? I've muted people for 5 or 30 minutes but I guess I haven't payed enough attention to see if they got unmuted after that time ran out. |
