Friday night contained, by far, one of my favorite interactions with a professional troll. Here is the tale of what happened: I was spec'ing on FTC for a while (maybe a few hours) and trying to keep the player count up before midnight. Many brewskis had been consumed and I sort of just wanted to listen to music and keep an eye on the server. I had muted this guy named "ChocolateStarFish" (also played as "GiantPussyLips") a few times for going nuts on the mic. Among many of the annoying topics, he was accusing anyone with a KPD > 1 of walling. At one point, he went apeshit on Night Ninja when he had a good ratio, and when it was revealed that Night Ninja is an admin on FTC, he then proceeded to claim that Night Ninja pays $5 so he has a safe place to hack. A few more mutes happened, but I was sure to unmute this turd after a few rounds, and let him know to take it easy with the hackusations etc. He eventually left before midnight. The server looked like it was about to drop off so I decided to play for a bit. Within an hour, my friend was back, and within a few minutes he made a comment over mic about "that asshole admin that was here before." My response to tell him over the mic (laughing while I said so!): "Dude! You just blew your cover!" What happened next was fairly tame. It was basically a long voice conversation (sorry to the people who had to listen to it) about how this guy has multiple SteamID's and that he could change his IP address at will. I implored him to join with as many SteamID's, from as many IP's as possible, and I would relish banning them all. He claimed to know the "server owner." When asked for any details, he could produce nothing. That put him over the edge. From that point on I remember him talking a lot about dicks. Every sentence had to incorporate a dick in some manner. He must have been having a midnight craving, I guess. Anyway, his last voice comment before I banned his first SteamID was, "Suck my dick. I'm your worst nightmare." I figured it's only a matter of time before he shows up again, and how bad can it be, right? So of course he does show up again, and TK's me a few rounds, talks about dicks some more, and then leaves. Rinse/repeat for the next SteamID. In total, here are the SteamID's that I noticed: STEAM_0:0:41500236 STEAM_0:1:18227067 STEAM_0:1: 14143474 All connections came from the same IP, 70.112.126.40, which was banned (and some other IPs, details available on request). It was pretty funny when this guy said "You're not high enough level admin to ban by IP."  I did a little research and found these nuggets: -[link]- -[link]- -[link]- My favorite comment: This guy is a class A twat that is probably still breast feeding at the age of 30. The first two links are forum posts from 2011, but it's nice to see that the last link was from a few months ago. The same symptoms are all there: - Accuse everyone of walling - Say something about an admin (or an admin's mom!) paying $5 to do something that Mr. Dick-Centric doesn't like (i.e. muting him) - Claim to know the server owner, and you're in big trouble for abusing your admin! Maybe someone else will stumble on this forum post and the legend of the cock-obsessed griefer will continue. Either way, it was a pleasure, and I can't wait to do it again. |
