This whole Drunk Night thing is still kinda pushing on me. I don't think that it really says much about us if we all intentionally get drunk for the purpose of playing FTC. It's more fun if you just kick back a sixer to loosen up your playing hand, ya know what I mean? |

I've sent b4ndito my modest offering of what I can do to idle/play during the week. My opinion is that events should be centered around the CS:S aspects of FTC, and not lifestyle or culture choices that current or former FTC admins/drunkards/fair-weather-FTC'ers have chosen. We did shotty night a ways back, and I believe a good 15 minutes of HE's only would be a clever event as well. We seem to have copious amounts of entertainment when someone calls "buckull" (that's "back hall" for those not familiar with an FTC legend  ) nades, so why not let people tool around with their grenadier skills for a little while?The events should be inclusive and not exclusive. Don't alienate people by enforcing some social requirement that you be an alcoholic or reckless individual. Yeah, we have them...  Let's not exclude anyone else who wants to partake of the FTC bounty.Oh, and I completely agree with poopers. We need a change in our branding. FTC is a 1000fps server, 100 tic, has classic Pstats, new Pstats, HLSX, etc. We can definitely make our server more sexy by tweaking the hostname value. |

In the almost 3 years that I’ve been playing on FTC, it really hasn’t changed all that much. Everyone knows the camping spots, the nade angles, the places where enemies will rush from, the time displayed by the clock on the wall in T spawn and which hostage to kill (the azn). Most plugins and server-side additions have been geared toward enforcing and enhancing “meat and potatoes” style CS play. Perhaps its time to “add some spice” to liven things up, without turning FT Office into a carnival. The car runs great and has low mileage, but maybe a new coat of paint can attract more interest and offers. It’s a great property and its value will increase with some added curb appeal. I agree with Poopers and I think that marketing the sizzle will remind people why they love the taste of steak. I found a few SourceMod server-side plugins that I think might work well for FTC. Some are “business in the front” plugins that will help FTC operate smoother,,, others are “party in the back” plugins that can add some flare. Nobody has ever accused a Mullet of being boring.
 zBlock - -[link]- “zBlock does not enforce the "rates" of clients, but it enforces them to use cl_interpolate 1 and the difference between cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate may be not greater than 30.” It assists sv_pure by enforcing additional cvars and it will help alleviate some player glitching.
Detox - -[link]- “The anti-wallhack does not prevent players from seeing through the walls themselves. It prevents players from seeing other players that are behind walls. Similarly to HLGuard, it prevents the data of players behind walls from being sent so that all hacks depending on that data (wall hacks, ESPs, radar hacks, etc.) will not function properly.”
Radio Spam Block - -[link]- Stops players from being able to spam “Go Go Go” and shit by requiring X seconds to pass between radio calls.
Votemute - -[link]- Just like it sounds.
Light Setting - -[link]- “This simple plugin allows any admin with a certain level of access to change the map lighting scheme. This plugin cannot set clients dynamically, it can only set them as they come in,(retry) or on map change.” There are 12 lighting styles to choose from (fluorescent flicker, candle, etc…) I’ve seen this is in action on D2, its very cool. This plugin adds a new feel and atmosphere to the map without a need for players to DL stuff.
Gore Blood Mod (not Al ‘I invented the Internetz’ Gore) - -[link]- This plugin can be configured to allow for All, One, or a Combination of the following…
-Fade to monochrome (black and white) on death
-1000% more blood decals
-Stringy blood when shot
-Squirty blood into the air & impact cloud blood via a headshot
-Explode with a cloud of blood, squirts, and bones when hit by a lethal weapon
-Admin control with sm_goreflags to manage extreme content!!!1oneone
1 vs 1 Knife Fight! - -[link]- “When a 1 versus 1 situation occurs, the plugin will prompt players asking if they want to knife to the death. This plugin supports music during the fight.”
Special Effects - -[link]- “Adds Special Effects For Grenade Detonation And Bullet Impacts. You Can Set The Convars And Pick Your Favorite Effects.”
1 : Sparks
2: Glows
3: Energy Splash
Grenade Trails - -[link]- “Adds a trail to grenades when you throw them.” Looks kinky. 
Buy A Frag - -[link]- LoL. Lets a player purchase a kill for X amount of money by typing ‘buyfrag’ in text. Statwhores and noobs will rejoice!
Frags Contest - -[link]- “You use sm_runcontest to run the contest… Upon death you get a message telling you how many points you have and how many you need to win.” Sounds fun.
Drop Money on Death - -[link]- “When a player dies he drop a x% percent from money on ground. The player who touch the money from ground recive the amount of losted money. On next round, player loose how many money he dropped on previos round if anyone had found his money, else he remains will all money” Sounds like the developer is trying to take a page out of GTA. It looks cool though.
Paintball - -[link]- “This plugin adds paintball game effects for all weapons… Also available colors : "red", "green", "yellow", "blue" , "teamcolor","random"! "teamcolor" means CT's will have blue paintball effects and T's red” Epic throwback to the good ol’ 007 Goldeneye days.
Catch Nades - -[link]- “Players can catch grenades while them are on air. Just touch a grenade and you'll pickup it Works for all grenades : hegrenades, flashbangs, smokegrenades” Basically, if Eli Manning throws a nade at you and you catch it in mid air, you can pocket it and use it later. That’s what I call an Interception!
Accessories - -[link]- “This plugin spawns some random accessories for the hostages.” Makes the hosties look funnies.
These are only a few suggestions, some are merely cosmetic while others are sorta bonkers. Just thought I’d throw it out there…

wow.. i'd say theres alot to look into there.. very nice goosey... also i think the server name change is a fantastic idea but i really wouldn't like the bots.. like said before it really pisses you off when you go in expectin 10 and theres 2 with 8 bots..grr |

1vs1 knife mod is something I have been wanting on FTC for a long time now. In almost every server that I've been to that's had it, people have enjoyed it. Frags contest would be great for any diehard ragequitter to keep his cool. Seeing how many frags you can get in the amount of time allotted would be awesome. Zblock and Detox = a must. Servers that have them run so much better. The gore mod looks alright but might make the server lag as well as people with shitty PC's like me lag. Good idea Goose taking the time to post all that stuff. The mentioned above are ones that I'm interested in running in the server. Me, Gitchy-poo, and Bandito are all going to have to have a talk about it. Sounds exciting though! |

Detox and zBlock would be great. Sounds like a damned good idea. If we could even just do the blood cloud on headshots from the gore mod, I think that would make killing people with a scout that much more fun. I like it. Just like all other Mexicans, I love a good, officially-sanctioned knife fight. More fun than a bottle of tequila on Cinco de Mayo. I like. |
