I will explain to clear it up. When CAL season started, i joined up with the team. It was new and it was 4 years since i played competitively back in 1.6. This time around it was with my good FT buddies. The B Teamz! I had a great time. This was the direct cause to my overall drop in FTC activity. During the season however, i also became in-active to everything. I started taking summer classes to finish up my degree so i wouldnt have to go back to school in the fall. I got my degree, and now that that is done with, no more school for me. When summer classes ended for me, FT started dying off. I didnt like what i saw, and because i had lots more time on my hands, i joined up, and tried to populate. I posted in threads throwing out ideas on how to revive. I did what i could at the time, as well as Knight, Bandito, and Noskill. Knight, i believe had PC problems accompanied by personal issues. Hed have to clarify that though...lol. To conclude my post, i would like to say, I will not drop the ball. Now that major priorities are out of the way, i have more time to concentrate on "leisure activities." This being one of them. I will also be moving within 5 weeks, to bumblefuck NY, so i will have AMPLE amounts of time to dedicate to FTC...lol... |

Yeah, I did have personal problems as well as PC problems. Two of my hard drives have crashed within the past 6 months, but I can assure you it will not happen for a while now. I had personal problems because of women, but thanks to Noskill's book (I read most of it Noskill), an epiphany, and a nervous breakdown I have turned into a hardshelled prick of course with the same ideology I've had before. I appreciate the nominations from people for me, and I think the other two that are with me are well deserving as well. But when I think about it, 4 would be good enough for me, and that 4th person being Noskill. Noskill, you said that alone you would not be a candidate for it because of how harsh you are, but with 3 other people to feed input I think you would fit right in. Believe me, sometimes you have to have a harsh rational for the shit to settle, and I believe that with that kind of mentality in a group of lead admins would be best for running a good server. However, as I had mentioned in Alex's other thread, we have to be more lenient when it comes to rules, but strict when it comes to others. 4 Lead Admins to discuss hacking cases, to handle the amount of forum drama that could possibly escalate from close calls or just plain immature pricks, I think that a private discussion when it came to things like that would help run the server smoothly. We already have an admin forum, so that would make life easier. The lead admin team would obviously moderate on the forums as well. It's not really a big responsibility as people make it to be. But it's something that should not be looked over as well. I definitely think the admin team should be restructured, and that we have to find some way to contact admins that are currently inactive, or just trim them from the list. Admins should be a group discussion among the Lead admins. A PM should suffice if anyone expresses interest, or the need of more admins. With about 7-10 admins, FTC should be good. I am not sure how this is going to work out, but perhaps a vote should be proposed so we know for sure who the lead admins are going to be. 3 pages of input? Damn. This is more feedback than we got before the server went to hell. But this time, I think it's going to survive for a pretty good amount of time. I'm anxious to see how things turn out! I thought i'd chime in with my two cents on this. I like the idea of having more than just one head admin. However just deciding on a number and saying "lets have 3" creates another set of problems and neutralizes the benefits of having more than 1. LA should be given to those who deserve it and can do it effectively. Whether it is 2,3,4, ect. Stoping when you run out of candidates or everything the job requires is taken care of and another is not needed. Basically what i'm saying is don't just lock in on having 3. If there is a fourth person who is a good candidate and they would work well with the other 3 without much internal conflict then go with it and don't just say you already have 3. As for who should be LA. I agree about Knightrider. If he stays active he is good at keeping decisions as unbiased as possible. I have to disagree with many of you who want Noskill as a LA. I love NS and i am not saying he shouldn't be a LA because of him. I'm saying it because of everyone else. I'll try to explain. If Noskill was a LA it would partially defeat the point of having multiple LAs. It would be more like having one LA with some assistants. Not through any fault of his own. Noskill has a stronger personality than many of those in the community and he is more straightforward in his opinions. I believe that this would create a "group think" tendency within the community and the LAs which as i said earlier would partially defeat the purpose. As for Bandito. I say give him a shot, but to be completely honest I have doubts. One being his (to my knowledge) limited experience as an admin. Also because I have seen him loose his composure a bit when dealing with some people when he was an admin of FTC. Not much, but enough that there is a small doubt in my mind that it could be a trend with more admin exposure. With my having limited interaction with Bandito as an admin I don't feel i have enough on him in action to know whether his loosing his cool were isolated moments that everyone has or something more, hence the doubt. I would have to say no right now for glitch. Though before i explain my reasons i should point out that i am incredibly tired right now and I really think i'm confusing glitch with someone else, at least partially. If I am not confusing him with someone else then I have seen him have a few problems dealing with people and rules and when to tone it down. Mainly when to enforce the rules by example. And that last one is something i don't believe should be said about a LA. If Madvillan was up to it i would agree. He has been around, never seemed to have a habit of admin abuse, and never seemed to be involved too much with the drama. |

Mainly when to enforce the rules by example what?lol Must be confusing with someone else, as i have always enforced rules when needed, even coming onto the server when i am busy, by request of a reg/member to settle something. And to this day, i have not one complaint against me by anyone. Check the forums  I never had to tone down with admin, however, maybe im a bit too lenient when it comes to certain rules, like giving 10 more seconds to a camper to get his ass moving.I appreciate the feedback though. EDIT: I would post some of my previous ideas on how to revive FTC, but im going to wait for bandito, since he did work hard on this long essay he is talking about. I will add to his if anything. Just to clarify something: I am never inactive from the forums. I go on them even when I'm at a friend's house (Such as now). I think my amount of posts show that, and the fact that they aren't spam I disagree though Droid, about having Noskill as a lead admin. I think with 3 other people by his side, it'll negate his decisions. He is smart, but he does have a biased view on some things. It'd also decrease stress on certain things since he is incredibly smart and offers multiple suggestions on issues. It's just my opinion. |

If you were to include me in with the LA list I wouldn't neccesarily object but I do have my reservations. But first things first, the number of LA is totally arbitrary, the only reason I said 3 was cause that's what we used to roll with with, omni, omega & goose and that ran well enough. But I agree with Droid, if more people are deserving then we should be flexible enough to add them to the LA team now or in the future. Now, why NoSkill doesn't neccesarily want to be an LA on FTC: 1) My focus is and always will be on the FT clan as a whole. I don't neccesarily care about the individual subclans or servers. My focus is on this COMMUNITY, on the type of people we attract, recruit & keep around us. On the types of policies and procedures that get implemented & making sure they actually meet the needs of the people & that uneccesary or arbitrary rules aren't established. Or that stupid practices aren't implemented or followed. I also plan to keep & maintain an active FT clan roster. At the same time I will continue to donate to and help organize anything else FT, be it the website, servers, policies, whatever. This doesn't require any of you to do anything neccesarily, other than... allow me to do so (by not giving me other stuff to do). 2) I am currently on a CAL team. Competitive play will occupy the majority of my Counter-Strike time. In other words, I think the new LA's should be the most visible, friendly, active, resourceful & dedicated players on FTC. You know what I mean? 3) I won't take any offense to not being included in the LA group. In fact I would prefer I only be a mere admin and even that isn't neccesary. Don't get me wrong, I will still share my thoughts and ideas with all of you (whether you want me to or not) but that's because FTC has a direct impact on FT (my focus). So obviously I'll be involved, but I don't need any "power" or "authority". The simple fact that you're retarded if you don't listen to me is enough =) 4) I fully believe that the people I have mentioned (and I agree that other candidates are viable) are fully capable of "running" FTC on a daily basis and handling 90% of the issues as well as the admin team. Now, if the LA's have a problem with an admin, or FT members, or VICE VERSA, that's the time to involve me. I would like to keep myself as impartial to the overall workings of FTC that if a judgement call needed to be made, I could make it without caring who I might piss off in the process. That's pretty much it, if you guys want me as an LA, fine whatever. But I'd prefer it if you guys: Knightrider, Glitch, Bandito & Alex just ran with it. Revise the admin team, make sure everyone on it is active/dedicated/friendly/respectful , launch the server, get people playing on it & tackle the inevitable problems that will arise when they arise amongst yourselves & with the admin team. If I'm needed (in the event of catastrophic failure) I will be here, ready & willing to serve in the way that I feel benefits FT the most. Keep talking though, this is really an excellent conversation that will shape a large portion of this community for years to come. |
