“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act” - George Orwell Ron Paul is very right wing (conservative) I'm not sure why he would come so close to generally liberal candidates. Well maybe I do know why, one of the main issues that people side with Ron Paul on and apply alot of weight to is the plan to leave Iraq (and other foreign entanglements as Dr. Paul advocates). Not a SINGLE other Republican candidate denounces the war in Iraq... perhaps this is one reason why liberal candidates come into the scope compared to Dr. Paul's policies. I truly think his plans and ideas for our country truly transcend all parties. They are very conservative, but they would ultimately allow each individal vast amounts of freedom, and push us away from the direction we're heading (war, depression, hardship) both abroad and at home. Please do the right thing come November and vote for Dr. Ron Paul. In all honesty, he probably won't win. But let the world know that there is a strong, fervent portion of Americans who DO NOT want to be "protected" by their government in every aspect of their lives. Who do not constantly worry about terrorism. Who do not agree that we should police the world. Who do not believe that any war should ever be waged without proper declaration. Who do not feel they should shoulder the financial burden of wars and socialist programs they had no say in instituting. Americans who do want us to return to the economic power we once were. Who do want the peace and prosperity that comes with a free-trade system with all nations equally. Who do want the choice to choose to own a gun, or a school, or medical treatment. Who would rather spend the trillion dollars a year now spent abroad furthering local domestic interests. Who want us to maintain our sovereignty and protect the right to be called an American. I've spent all day arguing Ron Paul. Against McCain supports, Clinton Supports, anti-Paul Supporters... phew. Allow me to share some highlights. "I support McCain because I was in the marines and I don't want to be sent anywhere in the world to die by someone whose never been in the military." This is actually one of the better retorts but basically, my response is that with Ron Paul you wouldn't be somewhere unnecesary. You would never go to war unless WE as a COUNTRY went to war. (you know where car mfg's start making guns instead) Also, why does it make you feel better that you're being sent to die by a person in the military? No matter who was sending you to die, wouldn't you feel the same? Wouldn't you want it to be at least for a good reason and KNOW that everyone at home supports you? "Well if we're not backing Israel who the hell is going to protect our right to oil?" Well since we've subsidized Israel for so long, there's bound to be some... hard feelings. However I think backing off our "join us or else" stance might do more to further US interests with OPEC than anything else. Also if we further our own technology and create superior products and services, we can trade openly with any nation that wants to. Then we won't have to be as reliant on "buying" the oil with our declining dollar. |
