A friend of mine has a band and I got bored and made him this for his next gig, any thoughts? Just a quick thing, just a matter of cutting out the render deleting it's background and bits and slapping it on a new one |

Nope no thoughts at all. Jus /wrist. Personally i dunt think that poster will intrigue anyone. Make a new one with more colors nd make it fruity so atleast the gay population is attracted to it. (Fetus can be of more assistances with that one i believe) |

I think we need to look at this as if we had just been handed said flyer and were asked to spread the news. My response: I wouldn't Reasons: The flyer is bland; I feel like if I go to it it would be in some stuffy basement and the sound would be of amateur quality. I assume it is a goth/punk show hence the fat punk guy on the front, but the background makes my eyes hurt. Honestly, if my friend gave this to me I would stick it in a pocket and throw it on my table, and if by chance I saw it on the day of the show, then, I might go, but only because they are my friends. However, if this is on some counter or someone was to be arbitrarily giving them out, I wouldn't accept it and merely walk by. Problems: For starters, take away the optical illusion in the background, it's really frustrating. Next, I don;t even know where or what day this is; make the time, place, and day much clearer. After looking at it for a while, I realized that the "The Shed" and "20th December" were actually the day and location. They are mixed in with the title of the band, and I really thought that they were just other bands playing. Last, Change the font and the placing of the actual important information (ie. Location, time, bands playing, cost, etc.) These all look very awkwardly placed and don't get across what the customer needs to know. Suggestions: Flip it from portrait style to landscape, which allows you to separate the flyer into two areas, one for picture and appeal, and the other for the information. For the left side, I would put some sort of picture that has to do with the style of music or the name of the band. As for the right, I would put the location, cost, time, and the name of the band. Have these clearly labeled so they are easy to find in case the person forgets one piece of info. Have some sort of border and differing color schemes for each of the two sides, but don't do one pink and the other green since they have a bad transition from one to the other. Add some simple yet intriguing border, and make sure to only put stuff relevant to what you are pitching. DON'T ADD THINGS WITHOUT PURPOSE!!!! What I mean is, don't add a picture just because you have space to; this applies to everything, don't add space-fillers. I hope this helps! Anymore questions? ok, being a communications major, and graphic design minor (maybe) I've taken advertising classes, obviously. Two things stand out to me that need to be fixed. 1: The background is a killer. Not only is it hard to look at for more than 5 seconds, it draws the eyes away from the information. 2: Is the information placement. There is a setup to how to make a flier, and it starts at the "optical middle" and travels down and to the right. That is how the human eye works. So the information has to go up to the literal middle, if not, higher up. those are the advertising problems I see. |

I like the optical illusion ( for if the music isn't your thing (like me), you can just get high and stare at it and the time flies by) Anywhos like I said I was bored and I'm no photoshop college person thing.
