Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

The single most inspirational speech in history. For good reason. Cancer will affect all of our lives at some point, whether it be us or a loved one. Espn has started Jimmy V week in his memory and to support the quest for a cure for cancer. It kicked it off with a 7 hour chat with Bill Simmons (my favorite espn writer). Heres the link: -[link]- We all know that helping to support our favorite servers, whether it be surf, ftc, tf2, or any other server, by donating money to it is a good thing. But there is nothing more important than finding a cure for cancer. So donate money to the Jimmy V foundation. It may not be important to you now, but at some point in your life, perhaps multiple times, it will matter to you. Any donation is a good one. -[link]-

My little cousin has cancer, for the third time. I usually donate to the Jimmy Fund where ever I am if I see it, and have money. The big reason I donate now is the fact that President Bush has actually pulled funding from cancer research, which leads young doctors to not go into cancer research, for the lack of money. So the people have to donate to actually have the money to fund cancer research. Thank god for the people willing to work a job, without as much money as they could make, but the ability to make a difference. ps. Supposedly, there is a cure for cancer that has a quick, high success rate, but the FDA (right group?) won't give it the right to be used in the USA. pps. An other well known cure for cancer is aids, look it up. Edited Thu Nov 29 2007, 01:26PM |

Noskill check out dichloroacetate (DCA) see what you find. It's an iffy situation, but one of the closest to a miracle drug ever created. here, I looked it up in wiki for you, for a start -[link]- Edited Thu Nov 29 2007, 01:27PM |

Rusty, I remember reading an article about DCA almost a year ago and it seems like a major stumbling block regarding that treatment is the fact that its non-patentable. From wiki... DCA is non-patentable as a compound, though a patent has been filed for its use in cancer treatment. Research by Dr. Evangelos Michelakis has received no support from the pharmaceutical industry. Concerns have been raised that without strong intellectual property protection, the financial incentive for pharmaceutical industry interest is reduced, and therefore clinical trials of DCA may not be funded. Its kinda sad that major drug companies can't just get together and shell out a few million for the clinical trials. They will be the ones producing and selling the drug anyways, even if one company can't get a patent and maximize profits. (If the trials are successful.) Its been used to treat Lactic acidosis for a while now, so it seems relatively safe. It has to be certified for use in cancer treatments so they have to go through the process of having it tested and approved. Looks like there are many private sector donations and trials have started. Lets hope that there are some positive results. |

Wow Rusty! I didn't know about that at all. I had remember hearing something a while back about the possibility of a cure that was found. The wiki article was awesome. Great reading. And nice post Goosie.

I have a feeling there are secret organizations in this country's government that actually does hide lots of information from the people. Meanin there could be a cure, but the country is jus hiding for unkown reasons. I mean wut else do u expect from a country that will put a picture of britney's bald head, or gaylord bush's missing dog and alot others on the newspaper instead of serious issues in the country. Again we are all just puppets, and its all a conspiracy. |
