The Fish Tank is in need of a user executive administration... that is a President, Vice President, and his or her cabinet to voice the concerns of the common FishTanker... of course, with the proper oversight provided by the sexy moderators per usual. If you feel you can be a catalyst for change, sign up your campaign today and try to change the world! ~Wu-banga P.S. - Lets have fun with this. This isn't mean to be political so much as it is goofy and fun so don't focus solely on politics. ...................................... .................... .................. HOW TO GET STARTED  If you want to run a campaign, you first need to register your campaign. Simply do this by posting your intentions of running for President of the Tank inside this thread. Once posted, you will be officially recognized as a candidate. Deadline to sign up for candidacy is November 22nd at 10PM board time! You may also list you campaign adviser as well. Once listed as an official candidate, wait for further instructions. SET UP A CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS THREAD AND LINK IT TO ME IF YOU WANT IT LISTED IN THIS THREAD FOR USERS TO ACCESS. Check my post history occasionally to see if you missed anything. ....................................... .................... ................... To officially declare a party, you need to provide me a link to a petition that has THREE, as in 3, or more signatures which clearly outline your party and it's platform. This rule will be strictly enforced so we don't have an influx of unnecessary parties. Parties do not need to be political, have fun with this. An example of a part for instance can be the Armadillo party, or the Lemon party. One may attempt to create these parties or make a totally new one. When a party is officially recognized, a candidate can then announce they are running under a specific party (with the approval of the majority of party members.) ................................ ........................... ..... OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED POLITICAL PARTIES  -None Yet- ........................................ ................... ..................... ELECTIONS The caucus will be held in December. This makes the Fish Tank home of the first presidential caucuses in the land! The general election will be held TBA 2008. This is the big one. The top 6 candidates will be running against one another in a historic election. By this point, the top candidates will have chosen a vice president. ................................ ......................... ....... THE VOTING PROCESS  The caucus will be held in proper format, with users deliberating to choose which candidate they want to represent their respective parties. Every round, a candidate has to be voted off by the FishTank users until we have our top 5 candidates. The general election will be done through poll format. The poll will last 48 hours. If no president wins by more than a threshold of 8% in the poll, the presidents within that 8% threshold shall have a run-off lasting 24 hours. The winner of the run-off will be named the new President of the Fish Tank. Campaigns must try real hard to get out the vote. You may offer BUTTSECKS in exchange for votes, or think of something entirely original. Whatever it takes to get the vote out. ............................... ........................... .... UNIONS AND LOBBIES If a select group of users want to start a lobby or a union, feel free to do so. Lobbies/Unions do not need my permission to be officially recognized. Lobbies/unions are powerful factions the candidates must try to impress in order to get official backing from such groups, ensuring a slew of votes. Lobby/union groups can be goofy and based on whatever you want. For example, one could make a The Rick Roll'd Union, seeking the candidate that best supports their cause. Be creative! I WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE MY RUNNING FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE FISH TANK Consider Emerican into the race. I am a long time fish tanker who knows what people want: Fun and buttsecks. Seriously, there is nothing better. We all know that, so why vote for someone who doesn't support buttsecks such as Nightrider? It makes no sense at all. I would like to officially announce the making of the Buttsecks party, and all members are allowed to join. Please see my thread for more information. I, Kcow would like to proudly announce that I am running for Fish Tank President. My party is on of a noble and righteous cause, the name rings liberty in the ears of the listeners. UPDATE: Vice Presidents aren't necessary due to the fact that this board has a fairly small userbase, but if you would still like to have one thats totally cool | ||
