Venture Bros season 2 started yesterday and I have to say, I laughed so hard I was crying the whole 30 minutes. Did anyone else see last nights episode? For that matter, has anyone besides me heard of the Venture Bros? | ||

I've heard of it, and have even seen few episodes. To be honest, I'm not really too impressed with it. I also don't like the new cartoon MinoraTeam. I am a huge fan of Aqua Teen, Harvey Birdman, and Family Guy. |

yeah, the real reason I started watching it was because it was the show on before Family Guy. But now (don't hate me for saying this) I think it's funnier than Family Guy. The first 3 seasons of Family guy were awesome, but now some thing just screems to me sellout whenever I watch Family Guy. As a Business major, it's easy for me to pick up all the product placement and little advertisments they cram in there now. The worst part is they are starting to reuse jokes and get away from the randomness that is the whole reason i started watching the show for. And the merchandising... ooh the merchandising. I can't go anywhere now without seeing Family Guy swag. Sometime I think the only reason Fox uncancelled Family Guy is to promote thier clothing lines, drinking paraphenalia, and toys etc. And that's the short version of why I like Venture Bros better now. | ||

The new Adult Swim shows suck!! Fuck Tom goes to the Mayor. Fuck Venture Bros. Family Guy, Futurama, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Sealab 2021 own all the new shows. Plus there's some other good ones im forgetting. |

Every show on TV has product placements, their called commercials. Remember, it is the corporations that own TV stations… General Electric = NBC, Disney = ABC/ESPN, AOLTW = CNN, HBO, Cinemax, Turner Classic Movies, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network (i.e. Adult Swim and Venture Bros.), The WB, CompuServe, Map Quest, Time, People, Sports Illustrated, MAD Mag, Fortune, Warner Bros. Movie Studio, New Line Cinema, Castle Rock, Atlanta Braves, DC Comics, News Corporation = Fox and everything Fox affiliated (FX etc.) .4ngryToasters wrote ... Oh we'll I guess I should have said this in the first place but my point is, I like a series while it's still fresh, before big corporations realize the potential in the cartoon, and they actually let the cartoonists do what they want without pushing them to promote products or become "edgy." I usually find that a series reaches it's peak in the 2nd or 3rd season, then It's all downhill from there. Allow me to explain my reasoning behind this: 1st season This is the auqward "kissing your cousin" stage. The creator isn't exactly sure where he wants to go and what the public will find funny. They are also carefull not to piss off the FCC. 2nd - 3rd season By trial and error, the writers find out what's funny to people, and the series finds it's stride so to speak. Yet It's still early enough that not eeryone wants a piece of the profit, but they can get away with a little more without th FCC caring 4th season forward If your series lasts this long, congradulations. You have a cash cow that everyone wants a piece of and you are happy to oblige. You sign deals with big companies and in turn you must "push the envelope," cause big corporations think the public wants to see frontal nudity, or hear the word fuck more often. You sell out like Johnny Damon to the Yankees and lose your virginity as your awesome show is raped time and time again. So yes aborted, there will be a time where I have to abandon the Venture Bros out of pure disgust. But untill then, I'm going to enjoy this series as it hits its peak. |

What I'm waiting for is a new season of ATHF.. I've seen all the episodes at least 3 times, and they actually DID start showing new ones once. They showed 2 new ones; the Virgin Mobile one, and the "Dirtfoot" one.. Those where great, they better keep those new ones coming... As for sealab.. I never liked that show.. I don't know why, it just wasn't funny. Family guy = jokes that have nothing to do with the story; "Remember that time when....(place story that has nothing to do with current plot). Simpsons....... I know it's not on adult swim.. but that is one of the classic shows that spawned family guy and all that stuff. Simpsons is one of the greatest shows ever made. There are over 200 episodes..  Moral Oral is new.. fresh.. and awsome  Minoriteam is horrible. It's barely even funny, and when it is, it's not very funny. Anyone ever seen it? Boondolks = PWNAGE. They said there was a new season coming... but WHEN?!? But Anime...oh.. anime... can't go wrong with that
