As many of you know my dad came home yesterday and brought home my new Nokia N80 cell phone. All reviews online said it was a great phone and how it fit their needs blah blah blah. Well i couldnt take them seriously until i had a day of using it under my belt. After a day, it is the best phone out there.
Like features? This phone has a 3 megapixel camera on the back. It also has a second 1.5 megapixel camera in the front for video calls. It has 40 mb of space on the internal drive, and a minisd card slot on the side for added storage. It even came with a 256mb minisd card. Transfer your music or videos over to the phone and you can watch them in very good quality. It also has games, fm radio, bluetooth, and email. But IMO the best feature on this phone is it's ability to connect through the internet, not only through my service provider's internet service, but also through my own household wireless internet connection. Thats right. My phone has WiFi, and it is awesome.
Like taking pictures? This camera is for you. The 3 megapixel camera is better than my mom's 200 dollar camera she bought last year, and takes excellent pictures. This picture was taken using the 3 megapixel camera:

Like interface? The n80 is a retractable slider phone. Push up on the top and it slides up to reveal a keypad. The buttons are medium sized but it is easy to get used to after browsing the web. The menu interface on the phone is fantastic. Big icons are easy to go through and find what you want. Some minor settings are hard to find (such as changing the alert when you get a text message), but it is mostly a clean, sleek, easy interface.
Like connectivity? You can connect this phone to your computer (or other phones) using bluetooth, infrared, or just plain usb cable. When plugged into the computer, the screen on the phone pops up and asks if you want to play media, manage mass storage, or use the pc suite software that came with the phone. The software is extremely easy to use and took no time to get used to.
Like style? The phone is pretty much a block with a sliding top, but its not as big as you would think. Just a little bigger than a normal flip phone, but it is easy to get used to. There is a nice, giant high resolution screen that is very bright and is great for browsing the web or watching videos. It comes in black and silver.
Like calling people? After using all of these features i quickly forgot what it was: A cell phone. Call quality is excellent. I had one bar and it sounded as if the person were standing right next to my ear talking. It came in very clear. It also has quint band--it calls on all 4 wireless bands used around the world, and one used only in asia.
Like battery life? You may be disappointed, but it is about average. With all these features using up the battery its easy to understand why it got so low so quickly (i got the phone at 11 am and by 4 it was half drained).
Like saving money? Save up for this. Unless you get yours in Dubai for $250 like my dad got mine, you're in for $400+ depending on where you buy it. Ive seen it $500+ some places as well. It may break the bank, but it is a very nice upgrade from any phone you may have.

2 things - 1) Czech, you realize no-one wants an iPhone, and they're the epitome of bad. 2) My phone can do all the same things! Plus, it's 3x smaller! |
