There is always the possibility that can't find an active one that you like but I'm willing to bet that you simply like the idea of rounding up your friends and getting them playing on a server that just happens to be one you own. We have several FT regulars that may or may not be FT Community Clan members, yet they have started on one FT server and moved on to focus their time on a different FT server. I don't have a problem with this -- we advertise our community servers on FT-related resources; our CS:S servers and this website. My understanding of the general attitude for directing traffic among servers is that we don't mind players moving around our community as long as they stay involved in our community. Pretty good idea, huh? We're willing to lose some regulars, or at the very least have less regular involvement, on individual servers if it means that they don't stray too far from FT. It's give and take, quid pro quo -- "something for something." What you're doing when you use a firmly established community, such as FT, to draw players you exclusively know because of that community to your server is taking something and offering nothing in return. You can say you're appealing to an interest for competitive play, or an interest in dust2, but you're operating outside of the FT community. I acknowledge that you and the thousands of other players that connect to FT Classic help perpetuate the success of FT Classic. You, however, refuse to acknowledge that when you draw players away from FT Classic that you're not helping us at all and only helping your server. You do understand that we had a dust2 server in the past, right? It no longer exists but that doesn't mean FT can no longer have a dust2 server. Did the idea ever cross your mind that since most of the interest in your dust2 server is generated from FT (and mostly 24/7 office FT Classic) regulars that, oh I don't know, you could have made an attempt to bring your server into FT?! Some of the circumstances are different than SB/FBC but others are similar. Mikey is certainly free to privately contact people and convince them to leave FT Classic, or any other server. Mikey is interested in seeing his server do well and I can't fault him there. The problem I have is that some people consider FT Classic ops and admins as assholes for trying to do the same thing for our server. Let's say Mikey uses xfire, Steam Friends, etc. to attract attract people to his server -- all of this sounds legit. Now let's say that FT Classic ops and admins use our forums and admsay in-game to influence players to stay on FT Classic or prevent others from drawing players away from FT Classic. Obviously the nuances of how each interested party accomplishes their goal is key, but we're not even getting into the details. ALSO another major difference between SB and this was that when the SB commotion occured, they basically 'mocked' us. their name was almost the same as ours, the map was the same. i mean dragging players off from a 24/7 office server to another 24/7 office server...thats obvious there was something wrong with that. but this is 24/7 d2. If you want to raise awareness about a non-FT server/clan then go for it. I love Goose the most, followed tightly by Alcohol. Honestly. They put in so much for the community, and put in the time they can to play, and people do take it for granted. I would like to thank Alcohol for being an awesome guy. And both Goose's and Alex's posts are incredible to read. Espeicially Goose's pictures. |

That is what is the best about both of their posts always, they both put in soo much time when they post and it shows the real truth about it all. You said well maybe did yo think of bringing your server into ft and everything. Well that was going to be the whole point after announcing im able to be active again i was going to ask permission to see if you guys would like for my server to be part of FT so that we can establish new 24/7 map and have a competitive edge to the game. This would bring more opportunities to members who are interested in the ft community. But then the whole nomination thing came up and everyone thinks thats why im back. You say I only started back because I got nominated. Well you can ask Jesus kitty himself i did not come to him saying hey i want to be an FT clan member nominate me. What i said was I think im going to start being active again on FT forums. I didnt go into detail with him either. But yes my reason was because i have been able to get on the computer again lately and summers coming so in spare time i can contribute and also thats where the server came in. Someone said im making it seem like I care by all thing. I want you to know and this isnt in a rude why. I could care less about anything dealing with becoming part of the FT clan. I just simply am the type of person who doesn't like others judging me based on little fact or opinion. Where the fuck you all came in was because i was really mad about what was said and that was really only directed to all those people who i knew didn't care at all and were not going to reply with anything worth while. Like the guy who's said who's he good thing i didn't get to know him or something along those lines. Thats really nothing i care about. Other than that a respect everyone here. That is why I was going to ask about the server here when i got done introducing im back and everything and see what you all thought about it. If you weren't ok with it I was just going to head in a different direction and play with my friends and advertise on a few forums i know about that allow you to spread the word. Now that im not so mad i guess i can end nicely. Thanks for your time i hope i dont get perma banned but if thats what you need to do then you must have a excellent reason and i respect that.
