To help the site run faster, there will be some restrictions placed on images/signatures/ and avatars:

Signatures:
The signatures on FishTankClan.com are causing lag on the server. The images are often small but very large in file size (long download). Everyone with an image in their signature needs to either make it smaller or remove it.

To make it smaller, photoshop > File > save for web > medium JPEG > save

Try to get your signatures under 50k, and to see this, right click the pic, and go to properties. You'll see the size there.

Avatars:
Make sure they're not larger than 50 KB, just like signatures.

Pictures:
Pictures larger than 100KB will be deleted.

Save ALL images for web, to compress them. When saving an image for web, never save as: gif, or png. These are better quality, but are much larger.

How do I save for the web?
Edit your image. GO to file>save for web> jpg. > quality medium or small>save.

Isn't that a bit extreme on the restrictions? 100KB is tiny. Depending on the server specs, image size won't produce any kind of visibly negative effect on the webserver. Only hit people will feel is if they're on dialup and can't download large files.
