Goose that is a nice little quote but I don't see much proof. If taken in the right context then yes it could mean something but if looked at in a different light it show no planning on rims part towards a selfish means. So the question is do you have more quote that will support your view of that or maybe some hard proof. If your going to play the part of the detective then you need the most important piece which is hard proof. |

Well, I'm gonna give Bubble Goose credit for 3 things he was correct about. 1. I am nostalgic about the old FT, that's what I thought (and hoped) I'd be coming back to. 2. I am all about a rank structure. Maybe it's because I'm military and that's what I'm used to or maybe it's because, as we've seen here, this so called democratic crap causes too much drama. 3. I was, at first, considering starting my own thing with USN but decided when I started playing with you guys again that I would rather have a subclan of FT like F7L5 or DAWG. Simple fact of the matter is that at this point, I'm not getting any of the things I was hoping for. I know that the Yays, at this point anyway, outweigh the Nays, but even if voted in, it's still gonna be a completely different atmosphere than what I was looking for. I will guarentee that Goose and I will be arguing back and forth constantly because of the way the community is set up and I'm too old to be arguing with kids all the time. I just want to play CSS and enjoy myself as I'm sure most of you do. For that reason, and that reason only, Goose, so don't disect this and try to make some retarded point, I'm withdrawing my nomination. I'm gonna keep my server open and the USN clan is gonna stand alone. I'll still be in FTC alot, unless that requires some vote or something, cause I enjoy playing there and everyone is welcome to come play at my server any time you all want too. I enjoyed being clanmates with most of you and hope we all stay tight, but FT isn't what it used to be and that's the FT I want. I may even rename USN DA (Digital Anarchy for you noobs) for nostalgia purposes. Thanks for the support, everyone that gave it to me, I'll see you on the servers. |

I've spent some time refraining from posting for multiple reasons including work, Shamrock Fest, baseball practice, etc. I've also wanted to avoid being forced into a position where I have to take sides. I understand that I am new to the community so I don't know Rim at all. He was a member of the original clan that broke down and was started back up. Rim then went and served his country in the Navy and returned safely a short time ago. He jumped on the forums for the new FT clan and said hey I'm back. Cool. At this point let me stop and say that I don't know what he has personally done for the community in the past. However, I trust the senior members when they say he has contributed a tremendous amout to the former clan in the past. I am not going to talk about whether I feel he deserves a pass or not into the "reformed" clan without having 100+ hours and 30 forum posts. I would have been fine at this point with him being allowed into FT for his previous donations towards the community provided the senior members all agreed. I personally would have liked to have seen him spend a few weeks getting to know some of the newer members of the clan such as myself. I don't see what the rush was and what the hell the difference is waiting 2 or 3 weeks to get to know the new members. Then having a post be created to allow him back in. Obviously, I could make a rash assumption at this point and say it's because he is planning on leaving again even for a short time in July for military duty again but I want to stick as close to the facts as I can and like I said I would have been cool with him getting in at this point. I noticed that Goose posted his reasons for voting no in regards to RIM being allowed in. Noname posted this in the thread... пøиคмє wrote ... I definitely wouldn't want to jump right in, give a "I'm back" thread, start a new clan/sub clan, and then start a new server knowing that two other members just started another server if in fact you were looking to add it to the community server list. If you weren't looking to add it to the community list then you wouldn't have asked noname to nominate you. If you had really wanted to help the community, then how about asking to help out with one of the current servers or especially helping to draw people to the new server. If you don't like Dust, then maybe offer up some of your prior experience as a server owner to help the community. I mean at the very least talk to the server owners to say you wanted to start a new server and bring it up with the community. That's just common sense courtesy. Please understand, I'm not trying to take a shot at you but I'm trying to remove my emotional involvement during this post so I apologize if it comes out a little. Now, I want to touch on one more thing. You and Goose obviously have some bad blood and prior history. You both have come out in the forums going after each other letting your personal feelings come out violently. As if the "My dick is bigger than yours" argument going on wasn't bad enough, you both come out talking about kicking the shit out of each other. Are you f'in serious??? This is a game. For Christ sake, we are a social clan for a computer game. Social not competitive clan. We are a community because we all are cool with each other for the most part. Like a family, people have their own opinions and disagree with each other sometimes. But you learn and move on from it. Whether you like it or not, Goose is a senior member of this clan. He has earned that role from his adult conduct and multiple contributions both in game and on the forums. You do not come back into the forums stepping on toes taking shots on him bringing up crap from a year ago while you are looking to get into the clan and attempt to embarrass a senior member of the clan. He purely voiced his opinion in regards to saying that you should wait a few weeks to get to know some of the new members, spend some time in the tank, and then vote on getting you back in. It's his opinion and being this is a community, every attempt should be given to respect a knowledgable opinion that is posted. Goose did nothing wrong but everything started from there and went quickly downhill and out of hand. EDIT!! I was posting this novel as the above post was being made. I agree with noname in that respect. It feels really wrong to have it all go down like this. If that is the route you really want to choose then, hey, it's your decision. You came back looking for open arms and got a ration of shit instead. Who wouldn't be a little pissed at that? I think most members would agree that we aren't asking for your head on a platter. Just a little time to fit in with the current community. Anything worth getting doesn't come easy. As cliche as that is. I would ask for you to think on your decision but if you really and truly don't think joining this community is worth the trouble then good luck with your server. I'll take a raincheck on those rounds. |

Goose was throwing as many shots as Rim as the other way around. EDIT: I'm not sure... is it FTC population vs FTS population or something like that? that's what I'm getting out of this... Interesting perspective on the FTC vs. FTS tension, nostie. Sounds like another topic for another time. I worked on a post for a bit yesterday but after Rim's withdrawal (sounds kinky!) of wanting to rejoin FT it doesn't seem very relevant. I was considering dropping a post that would rival Goose's "length and intensity"  (for which no one ever seems to give me credit for boring you all to death with multipage posts) but there isn't much to discuss at this point.I'm still open-minded about Rim's interests and involvement in FT but it's up to him to decide where things go from here. If he wants to hang out on FT Classic I have no problem with that, but I would kindly ask that everyone involved in this drama just let it go! The last thing I want is for this issue to re-erupt two weeks from now... Anyway, Rim seems to miss the "old" FT and, while I personally feel responsible by being instrumental in creating the "new" FT, I don't think battle lines need to be drawn over this issue. FT has changed and much of the personnel are different but there is no need to rehash personal differences that have lain dormant for several months, OR find new issues with which to beat each other over the head. Also, denigrating Rim's career choice (military service) as well as harping on crappy behavior which Goose has clearly corrected well over a year ago doesn't amount to anything worthwhile. It's been an interesting discussion but I think this thread needs to be closed. |
