Well, for the second year in a row now, New England has been lacking snow (more like we havn't had any) while western U.S. gets dumped on time and time again. To most of you depraved people, you would think of this as a good thing, well I don't. I'm a HUGE skier and it is a very difficult to enjoy the sport without any snow. Ever since I was four, I made sure I hit the slopes every year, and it was no problem either. We would have storms that would dump 3 feet of fresh powder almost every week, so snow was never in short supply. Now I'm considering asking for a refund on my season passes since any snow left on the mountains is man-made, which is also fading due to the rain and uncommonly high temperatures. I mean, it's January, sub zero temperatures are to be expected, but somehow I'm still able to go outside wearing shorts in the 60 degree sun. Not right. I find myself wondering when the first "real" snowstorm of the year will be so I can zip up to the mountains and make my trip worthwhile. But you know what, that's not even the thing that bothers me most.
It's the damn weatherman, and people's attitude in general towards this unnaturally warm weather. For some reason, they make the assumption that everyone wants to be in weather like Florida. DAMNIT! If I wanted florida weather, I would have moved to florida; But I live in New England, so guess what... I like the weather we have here... correction, had here. It makes me want to punch a hole through the wall every time I see Olly Williams the black-u-cast weatherman put on his retarded smile as he announces we're going to have another freakishly warm week, devoid of any snow.

He looks as if there's a hooker sitting under his desk that gives him a bj ever time he says "high of 50 degrees, with little to no clouds." Just because warm weather gives you an erection, don't assume that everyone is going to praise you for announcing that to us.

Did it ever occur to you that this is the result of the jet stream on a three year fuck up, caused by all those unnecesarilly fuel inefficient SUV's speeding up the procces of global warming? Eventually the "Great Ocean Conveyer System" is going to say "Fuck you guys. I'm Out," and send us into the next ice age (basically like the movie "Day After Tomorrow," but about 1000 times slower. And no it will not magically clear up in a week, we will stay in an ice age for a looooong time). And you know what? I'm going to laugh when that happens, cause there will be pleanty of fresh powder for me to ski on every day, while all texans freeze to death because the thermometer goes below 60. I honestly can't wait till mother nature says "Fuck You" and bitchslaps all of humanity with 20 feet of snow. Scientists say it could happen as soon as 20 - 50 years from now. I'll keep a pair of new skis handy.
Bottom line is, I got ice in my veins and I need the snow, otherwise I'll be PMSing worse than one of those 16 year old rich chicks on MTV. From what I heard, New England is not alone in this unseasonal weather; The European Alps are having one of their worst years on record for snow. If I could afford skiing out west, I would do it in a heartbeat. But until then, all I can do is bitch to you and blame global warming.

.4ngry i agree with you 100% i like cold weather hence me being born in late december. and i spent most of my childhood upstate new york where in january... hits like 5 degrees lol now its only been like 25-30 upstatse lol. ITS HORRIBLE and it hasnt snowed yet here in nyc the bronx. the last 3 years ive only had one snowstorm every year. 10 years ago i used to be able to stay home from school for a week because of snow lol it was never less then 1 foot of snow every storm which was every 4 days. Now! Its fuckin 50 degrees outside... im wearing my spring clothes... or Fall clothes for that matter. i spent $325 on a NorthFace SteepTech.. im pretty sure its made for skiing and snowboarding. its cool looking and is super warm. but i cant fuckin wear it lol ont he downside to snow.. im a biker.. umm not motocross. but i have a dirtbike. i luv it. been riding for about 5 years now. i do trails and shit but with snow i cant ride it. so no snow can eb good for me but also bad. lol AHH!!!! We are facing the same problem here in new jersey, my friend went up to Canada for a week just to snowboard. I wish I could snowboard, throw the occasional snowball (iceball if I wanted to be a prick) but theres no SNOW. | ||

This weekend I'm going up to Vermont (Killington) to ski, and the forecast is calling for RAIN up on the fucking mountain on Saturday (my fucking birthday, too)... Nostie = owned. | ||

i JUST bought new line chrons and have only gotten 2 uses out of my counterfeit ski pass. its fawking gay. good news is im going on a graduation roadtrip to british columbia to take pro lessons on a fucking GLACIER. how badass does that sound. |

I also 100% agree with everyone's post in here. I grew up in New Jersey and had a ton of family in upstate New York that I used to go and visit all the time. There was never a shortage of snow and snow days to get me out of school so I could go throw snowballs at people. Now that I'm out of school and started snowboarding, all I wanted this year was some damn snow so I could be out on the mountains tearing up some fresh powder. BUT THERE IS NONE!!! I am going to end up doing what everyone else is doing and travel out to Denver just to get some snowboarding in. This was why when I went in to the store in November to buy a new snowboard, the guy behind the counter was like dude I think you should wait cause it's end of November and we haven't had any snow so I think this means it's going to be a mild winter. That guy is an absolute genius. I agree with .4ngry that if I wanted Florida weather I would have moved to Florida. This is the Northeast for the most part which means we get all 4 seasons and actually get snow in the winter. I'm down in DC now which sucks compared to Jersey / NYC but at least it's only a 3-4 hour drive for me to hit the mountains in WVA or PA or spend a little longer up in the car to get to NY so I can actually get out on the snow and do some boarding. With all that said, my next thought is to be careful what we wish for. Since we all started saying we want snow, does that mean that Mother Nature is going to dump on us over the next three months so we are covered under snow on the East Coast all January, February, and March???? Well, I wouldn't mind that now since I just sold my 2005 Yamaha R6 motorcycle so now it doesn't matter if the roads are clear since my baby is gone.  I'll miss you.... |

Yeh it sucks that we didn't get any snow in Maryland ether this year. I love the cold and snow. It did get cold but all the precipitation was rain not snow. The thing you were saying about shorts means nothing to me I go out in shorts in a blizzard lol (I get told I am crazy lot lol  )
