Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

so, pocky inspired me to finally try something ive been wanting to do and thinking about taking some classes for in college, writing game reviews... so i took a crack at it. here it is, let me know what you think: This last month I have been playing Final Fantasy XII, which is a new take on the series with story and combat system. Square enix has seemed to of flip flopped their usual play with the next installment in there epic series. Final Fantasy XII is a lot like Final Fantasy XI, which is a shock to me and many gamers considering Final Fantasy XI is the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). In both games Squareenix has pulled away from the random encounter combat system usually found in their games, where monsters are encountered automatically while the player navigates the world. The player has the option to engage the enemy or not. The difference between the two games is that in XI you are controlling one character while in XII your controlling three. In the new MMORPG combat style of the game, it makes it hard for a player to control that many characters. Because of this Square has created a very in-depth and helpful new system to the game called Gambits. Gambits are commands for the characters to actually perform actions. At first they are pretty broad but later in the game you can purchase more detailed actions from shops around the cities. The combat is a big change to the single player sires and is exciting, even more exciting when fighting a boss and you can't rely on gambits a lone. Square has also tried another new leveling system as they have with the last couple titles. In XII they introduce the license board where the player earns license points (LP) to purchase squares on the board. When you purchase the squares you get skills, augmentations, licenses for armor, weapons and magick. Yes, for some STRANGE reason, Square has decided to change the spelling of magic. Espers may also be purchased on the board once you have defeated them. Espers are summoned monsters that will fight for you with one additional character. So whoever purchases the Esper on the board, only he/she may use that Esper and is the one to fight along side it. Espers seem to be a waste of magick points (MP) because they are only good for story-related things such as opening special doors and such. While the gameplay is a big change from previous Final Fantasy titles, the story is not Squareenix material... it is actually... well its just Star Wars. The story starts you off with a young boy, named Vaan who lives in the city of Rabanastre, a city that was conquered by the Empire just two years earlier (I know, they did not even change the name of the villains), located in the desert region of the world of Ivalice. Vaan, is a thief that has dreams of becoming a Sky pirate. During a robbery attempt he encounters two smuggl… sky pirates, a smooth talking, know it all, and a large animal like female (starting to notice the similarities?). It begins to break away from the Star Wars feel a little later in the game however. One of the most disappointing aspects of the game for me personally is the air ship. An exciting moment in all the previous Final Fantasies is obtaining and flying the air ship. You actually have the airship the entire game but its “being repaired.†With the lack of a world map, you don’t get to fly the air ship in this installment. It just anchors in certain areas or the aerodome, which is a airport for air ships. The biggest problem is, the player can get around the world easier with teleport stones, which are located in all the places the airship can land AND more, also available the entire game. One of the most impressive qualities of the game is the graphics (Considering this is a Playstation 2 title, a system that was released in October 2000). The world is gorgeous with its large cities, forests and dungeons. The cities are big and detailed, which, at times make them annoying to walk around. The species of Ivalice are truly wonderful, from the moogles to the banga to the chocobos. The moogles have been completely redesigned, while the chocobos are very similar to the ones in Final Fantasy XI. Final Fantasy XII is an exceptional game with its amazing new combat system, great graphics and a good story if your patient with it. 8.5/10 better than: final fantasy VIII worse than: Final fantasy VII plays like: final fantasy XI so theres my crack at it... what you think? |

actually yea that would be a good idea. but heres the thing about u going in depth with it. I think if you want to add a lil more then add some more base story to the review. Other then that leave it because u dont want it to long. I mean for a game review it is very well written. If it is too long ppl might lose interest and start daydreaming. You want to keep them interested and get straight to the point that will make them go, "Cool, this game sounds very good and it might have me playing it a lot." But u dont want ot go to indepth and give things away. Plus for me at least is the fact of me knowing only what you mentioned here, makes me mor eintrigued ot buy it and find out the rest. Granted it is a review and you want ot give more info, so your best bet would be to indulge and write more about maby the areas (locations) in the game. How many hours of average gameplay it takes ot beat it. How many side mini games in the game. Also touch up on the mid story. But DO NOT mention anythign relevant to the ending. If you want to review your review then you could take some things i mentioned into consideration. Very well written though and much better then anything i could ever do. lol Edited Tue Dec 19 2006, 09:53AM |
