God damn Newegg Preferred Account makes it too easy to spend money. My computer is awesome. I wont get into specs but currently running i7, 6GB of RAM, several HHDs and an SSD, two GTX 460HAWKS in SLI and my speakers are Corsair SP2500's -[link]- I took out one of my graphics cards and started running just one of the cards. I dont game often as much as i used to and have only been playing CS:GO which requires only one card and gets me 100FPS. And one card uses less power overall. So ive decided to sell one of my cards (anyone wants it let me know). I'll sell both for a combo price. Instead i bought a new card that runs very well and very efficient. I also have been using onboard sound for those speakers and decided enough is enough..no more bullshit. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 but it isnt supported anymore and doesnt work with Windows 7. So i bought a sound card. I also bought another USB flash drive and a 15foot HDMI cable. GFX card: MSI GTX 660TI Power Edition - -[link]- Sound Card - ASUS Xonar DX7.1 - -[link]- Also got a free Borderlands 2 with purchase of the gfx card. My justification to buying this was: Expensive speakers are useless without dedicated sound. This one GFX card will save my parents money because it idles at 50 watts compared to 250 with my SLI setup. I have a problem. |

Welcome to the world of sound clarity. Once you own a soundcard, there is no going back. Also I prefer single card rigs over multi cards. Why? Reliabilty, better temps and airflow, ease of set up (no worring about one card going x4 or some other bullshit). |

I used to own a great $200 sound card back in the day and paired it with my Logitech 5.1 system. SHit sounded amazing. I missed that so i look forward to enjoying it again. And i too learned from my SLI setup that 1 card solutions are just that much better. Draws less power, runs cooler, more motherboard options, and more space in your case. And i will never need 2 of the top cards. |
