Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

the test was wicked hard. I'm sore all over. It was straight muay thai, the art of 8 weapons, sometimes 9. First I had to test my technique, which was easy. Then we started the first endurance test where it started with me in the middle of 4 guys (who are all either amateur or professional fighters way better than me) And my master would send them in one at a time and I had to get 2 strikes on them, then 3 strikes on them then 4 strikes on them. That wasn't too hard. Then the same thing happened but instead of 1 v 1 he sent in 2 guys at the same time and it was 2 v 1 same striking pattern. Then it was 3 v 1 same thing. Started getting hard at 2 v 1. After that I had to go around the 4 of them and and get a commanding clinch on them, and send some knee strikes. This was really really tiring cause these guys all know how to clinch a lot better than me, and any knee hurts like a bitch. So I was exhausted by this point. Then it was time to start my endurance training, where I had to go two rounds of 5 minutes with one of the masters (we have 2, but one is only there for Saturdays usually). He was holding thai pads and calling out number of strikes I had to do. In each round I had to do the minimum of 75 kicks and 75 knees. That may not sound like a lot, but let me tell you, when you throw 75 kicks above the waist at someone, you are throwing your whole body wait on one leg focusing it all on the ball of your foot, which is about the size of a golf ball, it's hard. Then after throwing 10/20 kicks you have to go down and throw 10/20 knees with no rest. It is not easy. First round I went out a little harder than I should, but got 10 kicks deducted from me for not throwing them hard enough. So in the end I threw over 85 kicks. Second round comes and I'm already dad tired, feel like passing out, but just had to push myself. I finished my 75 knees quickly, but finished my 75 kicks with only 10 seconds to spare. After I made that, he made me just tear apart the pads with fists, which I felt really good doing. Oh yea, this whole time I was hitting pads, if I left myself open, the master took free shots at me, which sucks. After all that, I had passed, and had to go through our club's initiation. I had to go down the line of 5 guys, 3 are lvl 3 fighters and two masters. The first guy did outside leg kicks at 100% power, it hurt but wasn't bad, 2nd guy did inside leg kicks at 100% power, hurt again, but I was standing. 3rd guy, outside, was my master, the one I've trained with for 4 months, at least twice a week. This guy throws a mean leg kick, ate one, almost went down, ate the second, I wobbled to the next guy to get my punishment. Inside, now it's really hurting, I'm starting to breath more heavily from pain, and I get to the 5th and final fighter, our professional fighter. The pain I felt from his leg kicks, is something I don't want to ever feel again. I went down after his second, cause my legs tightened up unlike any cramp I've ever had, I was on the verge of hyperventilating from pain, and would have loved to be able to cry from pain, but with all my brothers around me congratulating me, I was happy and didn't. My master picked me up off the ground and walked me around to get blood flowing back to my battered legs, telling me how proud he was of me because I had to take the test a week early. And one week of heavy endurance training is a lot. So right now I'm in bed nursing a hang over, and for the fact I can't walk. But now I can fight in the cage if I want to, and I do and hope to next summer. Edited Fri Jan 16 2009, 07:13PM |
