Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

Wow, I thought that with a 3-1 series lead, Carolina would have shut the door before allowing a game 7. But now the momentum has shifted and if the Oilers manage a huge game 7 road win, then it will be a comeback worthy of much praise. Remember, the Oil are a number 8 seed so to see them win it all would be great. But its about time for the Canes to wake up and nutrse their wounds and come out with a strong game. We shall see Monday night. | ||

When your up 3-1 in the series, you gotta close it out in game 5 or 6. The series shouldn't have realistically seen 7 games. Things woulda been different if Edmonton had home ice advantage. I'm bitter. I knew Carolina was the favourite but Edmonton showed more heart than any team I can recall in recent memory. The loudest fans too. The year prior to the strike, the Calgary Flames made it to the cup, (another team from the Province of Alberta, FYI: a 'Province' is the equivalent of a 'State', I just wanted to clarify that because I've heard that maps in the US show Canada as the 51st state, something about Manifest Destiny gone heyward. ) But yeah, the last Canadian team to win the Cup was Montreal back in 93. I realize that coming off of a lockout, that the best economic forecast would be another 'Southern' winner, (Much like Tampa Bay before the lockout). Notice that the East/West finals saw Buffalo(northeast part of US) Carolina (southeast) Anaheim (southwest) and Edmonton (norhtwest and only Canadian team) as the Final 4. Coincidence or conspiracy? Hitting up 4 distinct geographic regions translates into more viewership because of timezones and more regionalized interest. Especially when a Canadian team made it to the Cup finals. That ensures hockey fans from all over North America. I've been questioning the validity of professional sports for quite some time now. Its turned into a business, where billions of dollars are exchanged, and the potential livelihood of small market teams depends on a winning record. Winning is so important because it translates into more butts in the seats, more merchandise sold, higher TV revenues because of increased viewership and higher profits from commercials. Ever wonder why Officials never get interviewed after the game or even face the media? Its the shame that they must carry and after an emotional win/loss, the potential of having an official blurt out something questionnable is to risky. Don't wanna blow anyones cover. I mean, crazier shit has happened. Anyone familiar with the "Loose Change" video? If the US government can falsify a terrorist attack, I'm sure some Refs can be coerced into the 'larger picture of whats best for the game'. I may be reaching a bit, but FUCK, I'm really really pissed! In the back of my mind I was hoping for a huge comeback! I mean, the BoSox ended up beating the Yankees in a best of 7 series a few years back, and they started off 0-3 before winning the next 4 games! FUCK. I might have been reaching a bit in some earlier comments, but North Carolina has Nascar, Basketball, great Golf, Lynchings,,,, Hockey is Canada's game and 13 years without the Cup is just bullshit. The Conn Smythe trophy is a freakin maple leaf in the background, and a building (which I think its Maple Leaf Gardens), the Stanley Cup has a maple leaf on the bottom, CANADA > Everyone else when it comes to hockey. (The Russians can kiss my ass, 72 series is king!) fuck. |

Ok so heres the deal, the Islanders suck. Ottawa will win the cup this year, do not be alarmed about their early season slump. This actually makes me happy, because sens have always had an awsome season with relatively few slumps, but by getting alot of big slumps early on they will be bprepared for the playoffs, and they wont slump in the playoffs, cause they wil know how to come back after a loss. |
